Gresik authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with the death of a woman whose body was discovered wrapped in cardboard and plastic on Jalan Kedamean, Gresik. The victim, identified as SAC, 30, was an online motorcycle taxi driver from Sidoarjo.
gresik Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Rovan Richard Mehenu confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as SR, 36, also a Sidoarjo resident who had been living in Menganti District. “Yes, we have secured one of the perpetrators,” Mehenu stated on Monday, july 28, 2025.
Images of the suspect show him wearing a black and orange shirt that appears tattered, with visible bruising on his face. He is currently undergoing examination.
The discovery of SAC’s body on Sunday, July 27, 2025, shocked residents of Kedamean. The remains were found on the roadside,concealed within black plastic and cardboard,secured with raffia rope. Sakur, a local resident, reported that the body was discovered around 6 a.m. by individuals searching for grass.
