New York โขFilm Festival 2025 Offers Glimpse of International Cinema, adn a Bronx Chill
NEW YORK, NY โข- Theโข 63rd New Yorkโ Film Festival (NYFF) โkicked โขoff this week, โคbringing a diverse slate of films and filmmakersโค toโ Lincoln Center, but for at least one guest, theโ experiance extended beyond โthe silver screen โto a surprising encounter with New York’s climate. A visitor from France, attending the festival, found the city’s subway system-and itsโ air conditioning-a bit bracing.
the NYFF, running from โฃSeptember 26 to October 12, 2025, โshowcases a curated selection of international films, aiming toโ highlight bothโ established auteurs and emerging talents. This year’s festivalโ features โworksโข from across theโ globe, offering Newโ Yorkโค audiences aโ preview of potential Oscar contenders and critical darlings. Though, โคthe journey to โคexperience these films proved unexpectedly chilly for one attendee, who shared their experience of catching a cold thanks to the โpowerful AC on the Bronx-bound subway.
“They should turn the AC off on the train as I caughtโข a cold,” the French visitor remarked,โ noting the โขstrength of the air โconditioning system. “The AC isโฃ really strong โhere; I don’t no how you do it.” The comment highlights a common โobservation for newcomersโข to Newโ York -โค the frequently enough-aggressive air conditioning, even asโ seasons change.
The festival’s programming includes a retrospective honoring a major figure in contemporary cinema, alongside premieres โof highly anticipated new releases.Photographer Frankie Alduino isโข documenting the event, capturing theโฃ atmosphere and key moments unfolding throughout the festival’s run.
