Frenchโ Left Demands Actionโข followingโ Lucarno‘s “Political Coup” Promises
PARIS – Following โขdeclarations of a sweeping “political โฃcoup” by newly appointed French Primeโค Minister Lucarno, left-wing parties are demanding concrete actionโค to back up the โrhetoric, expressing deep skepticism about translating promises into tangible โขbenefits for citizens. The calls for demonstrable change come amid ongoing economic and social crises in france and a โขsignificant crisis of confidence in current policies.
Rafael Gluchesman, a European MP and founder of the “Plass Bublik” movement, emphasized the need for action, stating that political stability “can only be achieved through radical changes in economic and social policies.”
Sophie Beniyeh,Secretary-General of the Union Federation (CGT),identified โthe cancellation of the recent retirement reform as the first crucial test ofโฃ Lucarno’s commitment. โฃShe stressed that current economic and social policies have triggered a “major confidence crisis” and require a fundamental shift to prioritize citizens and the middle class.
The French Socialist Party is adopting a cautious approach. Parliamentarian Philip Bron stated the party will not engageโ in โฃdiscussions “without a โฃclear announcement of a newโ and radical policy,” adding, “If a real balance is not achieved inโ favor of the popular and middle classes, we will notโ be part of โฃthis process.” He cautioned againstโ accepting “small promises or partial changes.”
Boris Valo, headโค of the socialist bloc ofโฃ the National Assembly, echoed this โsentiment,โฃ warningโค that practical implementation often falls short of initial pronouncements.โข
While consensus โexists among left-wing parties regarding the necessity of radical change, questions remain โคabout the feasibilityโ of these promises and their ability to address the existing economic and social challenges โคfacing France.
