Morecambe, England – โ An 18-year-old boxer, Leo Mountain, died after being struck by a โtruck in Morecambe on April โ20th, following a night out with friends. Authorities have concluded a judicial examination into the incident, determining the death resulted from a โtraffic accident with no suspicion of criminal activity.
Mountain, aโ north West region champion as September, โwas described by Leo’sโ Boxing โClub as possessing “a master’s heart both inside andโ outside the ring.” The club stated,”You are a master forever in our hearts and thoughts.Youโข will always be missing.”
According too forensic doctor Emma Mather, theโค truck driver reported seeingโข something resembling a “black garbage bag” on the road and had “only one to two seconds” to โreact before the โcollision. The driver discovered he had โstruck Mountain, who โคwas lying on the road, and emergency servicesโ were unable to save his life.
The investigation revealed Mountain had “high levels of alcoholโข in the body” at the time of the incident. Friends โhad placed him in a taxi,โ and he exited the vehicle to walk around the city before ending up on the road.
“this is an โincredibly tragic case and I โam so sorry for his family. I can’t imagine how hisโ family must feel after this loss. He seems to have been a nice youngโ man,” said Mather.
Leo’s Boxing Club further remembered him as “an amazing young man” with an “infectious personality” who “spread laughter and joy inโ every โฃroom.” โThey added,”Imagine that his messy smile, his joke and his presence will no longer be here โฃis inconceivable. He had so much to give โthe world and his journey had just begun.”
