Berlin Welcomes New Town Clerk, Reorganizes Council Leadership
BERLIN, Ala. – โthe Berlin Town Council convened monday, nov.โฃ 3, to swear in โnewly electedโ and re-elected officials, including a new town clerk and a โขrevised leadership structure. The appointments signal a fresh start for the town as โit moves forward with ongoing operations and future planning.
Mayor Patrick Bates and Councilmembersโค Donald โGunter, Edith Stevenson, Eudon Bates, and Keith Hardman allโ took the oath of office, administeredโค by Vinemont Town Clerk โKayecea Sasser. Councilman Steven Michael Clark was absent and will โขbe sworn in at aโฃ later โdate. A key change came with theโฃ election of โฃKeith Hardman as mayor pro tem, replacing Donald Gunter who expressed his desire to step downโ from the role.
in aโ meaningful move, the council โขunanimously approved the hiring of Keirstynโ Montgomery as the new Berlin Town Clerk, with Sasserโ administering โฃthe oath of office. The council also โaddressedโฃ severalโฃ resolutions to streamlineโข town operations. Resolution 15 โauthorizesโ the councilโ to deposit funds in โคqualified banks and savingsโข and loan institutions within Cullmanโ County, allowing โฃfor adaptability in banking choices. Resolution 16 established mileageโค reimbursement rates at the current IRS โstandard ofโ 70 cents per mile. Resolution 17 formally set the date and time for regular โฃtown council โmeetings – โthe โขthird Monday of each monthโ at 7 โคp.m.
