LIMASSOL, โขCYPRUS – Aโฃ large, uncontrolled โwildfire is burning northeast of the community of โฃMutayaka in โคLimassol, promptingโ the activation of the Icarus 2 emergency response plan.โ Firefighters are battling the blaze with โฃsupportโ fromโ multiple agencies and reinforcements from across the island.
The escalatingโ situation underscores โthe increasing threat of wildfires inโ Cyprus, particularly โคduring the dry summer months. The fire poses a risk to nearby communities and natural habitats,and authorities โare urging the publicโ to stay โขaway from the affected area to facilitate firefighting efforts.
