Holiday Spending:⁤ Experts Urge Prioritization to Avoid Debt as costs Climb

As the holiday season⁢ approaches amid ongoing‍ economic‍ uncertainty, financial experts are advising consumers to proactively prioritize spending and embrace flexible budgeting to avoid accumulating debt.Rising costs ⁤for travel, gifts, and ⁢decorations are putting pressure on household finances, making mindful financial planning ‍more critical than ever.

This year, staying debt-free requires a shift in mindset,⁤ focusing ⁢on what truly matters and building ⁣a budget that reflects⁣ personal values rather than rigid restrictions. According to Kimberly Palmer of NerdWallet, the key‍ isn’t limiting⁤ spending, but intentionally choosing‌ where to allocate ⁤resources.‍ “It’s about what you’re saying yes to.Focus on the positives, the things you’re excited about this ‍holiday season,” Palmer said.

The first step is identifying your ⁣holiday focus – whether that’s⁤ gifts, travel, or décor – and⁣ allocating resources accordingly. Palmer emphasizes the importance of versatility, acknowledging that ‌unexpected ‍costs can arise. “We don’t‌ wont to feel bad or just feel ⁣guilty for spending as we’re all just trying to do‍ our best,” she added, suggesting leaving “a little ⁢extra room in your budget for those mistakes.”

For ‌those seeking ⁢structure, NerdWallet recommends the 50/30/20 budgeting method, dividing take-home pay ⁣into needs (50%), wants (30%), and savings or⁤ debt payments⁤ (20%). This approach can provide a framework for managing expenses and ensuring financial stability throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Nissan Profit Up 61% Q2, But Future Remains Uncertain

by Priya Shah – Business Editor November 6, 2025
written by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Nissan⁢ Reports Q2 Profit Increase Amidst Ongoing Restructuring, Sales‍ Concerns

Nissan Motors announced a 61% increase in operating profit for the July-September period (second quarter) reaching 51.5 billion yen. This improvement, however, occurs alongside continued challenges in sales and an overall cautious outlook for the company’s recovery.

The profit increase was driven by 63.3 billion yen⁤ in cost reductions across purchasing, research and development, production, and logistics, alongside one-time gains.Despite ‍headwinds from unfavorable‌ foreign exchange⁢ rates, inflation,⁢ and U.S. tariffs, Nissan managed to exceed market expectations, which had predicted a 78.8 billion⁣ yen deficit for the quarter.

However, Nissan cautioned‍ against over-optimism. The company noted that some planned R&D projects were delayed to the second half of the fiscal year, contributing to the improved⁤ first-half results. Nissan is⁤ currently forecasting an operating deficit of 275 billion yen for the full fiscal year ending March ⁣2026.

Sales figures paint a concerning picture. While Nissan maintains ⁢its global sales forecast of 3.25 million units for the fiscal year, new car sales in Japan plummeted 21% ⁤year-on-year during the second quarter, with negative sales trends observed in all regions ‍except North⁤ America.

The company also reported a net loss of⁢ 106.2 billion yen for the second quarter, a larger deficit than‌ the same period last ‍year, and has not yet persistent its full-year net income forecast.

Under President Ivan Espinosa, who⁤ assumed office in April, Nissan ⁤is aggressively restructuring. This includes halting production at its ‌Oppama Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture and selling its Yokohama City ⁣headquarters⁤ building. As of September, the company’s automotive buisness liquidity ⁤stood at 3.6 trillion yen, comprised ⁤of 2.2 trillion yen in cash and cash equivalents, with an additional 2.3 trillion‌ yen available through unused loan facilities.

Bloomberg Intelligence analyst tatsuo Yoshida noted the Q2 results aligned with prior forecasts and expressed skepticism about a swift turnaround, citing concerns about sales and cost control.

President Espinosa acknowledged the challenges facing Nissan but expressed confidence in the company’s progress towards recovery, emphasizing‌ the importance of consistent efforts and a disciplined approach, including the‍ planned introduction of new vehicles in the second half of the ⁣fiscal year.

Title: Losing Weight After Strength Training: A Personal Struggle

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor November 6, 2025
written by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

Weight ‍Training & Appetite: A cyclical ‍Struggle‍ with Body Composition

A 24-year-old is seeking strategies to reconcile a⁣ love of weight‍ training with a renewed desire to lose weight, highlighting ‌a common challenge for fitness enthusiasts.

For years, maintaining ⁣a healthy weight felt straightforward. As a⁤ child, the individual maintained a normal weight, ⁢but teenage years brought a‍ significant shift in eating habits. Describing a tendency⁢ to finish everything on⁣ their plate, they developed a ‍pattern of overeating that led to weight gain.

By age ⁤21, they reached a⁣ peak weight of 120 kilograms.A dedicated effort to reduce caloric intake followed, resulting⁤ in a 37-kilogram weight ⁤loss over ten months, bringing their weight down to 63 kilograms by ‍age 22. Feeling physically and mentally improved,⁣ they then transitioned to ‍weight training, ‌shifting focus from weight loss to building strength and muscle.

This⁢ transition involved increasing food intake, especially protein, under the assumption‍ that weight training would prevent fat gain by ⁤efficiently converting calories into muscle. However, this proved inaccurate. Currently weighing 75‍ kilograms, the individual acknowledges gaining both muscle and ‍fat.

The core issue now is managing increased appetite ⁤stimulated by⁤ weight training while concurrently aiming to create a‌ caloric⁣ deficit for ‍fat loss. Despite successfully achieving a significant weight loss previously, they are seeking guidance‌ on⁣ how to⁤ repeat that⁣ success ⁣while continuing to prioritize their fitness routine. The challenge lies‌ in balancing the demands of exercise with‌ the need for⁣ appetite control to ‌achieve⁢ desired body composition goals.

skincare⁣ Pioneer Ole Henriksen‍ Advocates for ⁣Self-Love as‍ Key⁤ to‍ Radiant Skin

WEST HOLLYWOOD, ‌CA – ⁢Skincare guru Ole Henriksen, founder of the eponymous Ole Henriksen brand⁣ and spa,‍ is emphasizing‍ the importance of mental wellbeing alongside topical ⁣treatments for achieving healthy, glowing skin. Henriksen, ⁣whose products are favored ‌by celebrities like Jessica Alba and Katy Perry, asserts that a positive mindset and self-care rituals are just as crucial as ‍serums and moisturizers.

Henriksen’s brand is known‌ for results-driven products including the ‌Violet Ice Cold Plunge Pore Mask, Hydrabarrier Nourishing Face Oil, Banana Bright + Eye Crème, Pout Preserve Peptide⁤ Lip Treatment, and ⁢Dewtopia 5% Acid⁤ Firming Night ‍Crème. “Famous or not, I’ve always ⁤treated ⁢everyone like a star. Everyone in my ⁢book always deserves the best. … My‍ goal ⁣is to help everyone love ‍themselves‌ and their skin,” Henriksen explained.

this ideology is central to the approach‍ at the ⁣Ole Henriksen ⁤spa in West Hollywood, California, where‍ clients with a⁢ range of skin concerns – from cystic acne to dull complexions – are treated⁣ with a “mindset-first, ‌moisturizer second” strategy.

“Skin is your biggest organ, so you need to take care of it‌ like the rest of yourself. … It’s about ‍lifestyle, both mental and physical,⁢ that cares for skin,” Henriksen stated. He recommends starting the day with a moment of calm, suggesting, “Splash your face with cold water, look⁢ at yourself in the mirror, and lend yourself a ⁢smile. It’s all about an inner glow that radiates and ⁣a love affair with life.”

Henriksen further advocates for creating an at-home spa experience, incorporating deep breathing exercises and aromatherapy – specifically lavender or rosemary oil – alongside gentle massage techniques applied with outward and upward motions. He stresses the ‌importance of⁢ allowing products to fully absorb, recommending 1-2 minutes between each step.

“Plan the time and invest in you. …Your health is your wealth,⁢ and ‌you are #1 in your life,” Henriksen shared.
