Prague – Jan ล atra, a versatile trombonistโ and longtime member of the popular Czech band Laura and its Tigers, has โdied. He โwas a respected figure in the Czech music scene, known for his work across diverse genres andโ asโ a sought-afterโ studio musician and educator.
ล atra’s career spanned decades, beginning with piano studiesโ atโ the โฃMusic School before transitioning to the trombone at the State Conservatory inโข Prague and the jaroslav Jeลพek Conservatory. He co-founded the groupโ ล UM ล US in 1992 and joined โฃLaura โand its Tigers inโฃ 1999, eventually becoming a host โขwithin the band. His contributions extended to collaborations withโ Czech Big Company, Yo yo Band, Blues Wave, and American guitarist Hiram Bullock duringโฃ the 2007 โWork, Shop & More concert tour.
Beyond his performance work, ล atra was a valued studioโ musician and dedicated teacher, sharing his expertise with aspiring โขmusicians. He also performed โขwith โขthe band Pajka โขPajk, accompanyingโ numerous โCzech musicalโ television shows starting in 2001.
