The 11-year-old student at La Retraite de Yaoundé college was to be executed by her captors who refused to obey the sponsor, a relative of the victim’s mother.

Nyom II. It is in this town bordering the Messassi and Emmana districts, in the district of Yaoundé I, that little Hillary Dalia Kouakep Waoutou was kidnapped on the afternoon of October 18. It must be said that the first intentions to kidnap Hillary cross the mind of Eric Martinien Fotso (sponsor) in 2022. Planning the operation will take him time, until August 11 when he will meet the young Herman Tchewe, to whom he will entrust the work.

“We met on August 11 at Sous Mangoier. I got into his car, he explained the whole plan to me and how I should do it. I remember, since 2022, he told me every day: if we ask you to do a job and we give you five million, will you accept? I always answered him. At the end, he gave me the sum of 20,000 CFA francs for my transport,” admits Herman (Implicated).

A week later, on August 17, 2023, the young Tchewe will take refuge in a house under construction on the road which leads to the home of the 11-year-old girl, a student in Form 2 A class, at the bilingual college La Retraite. The deal concluded between him and the sponsor, Martinien Fotso, is to kidnap the little girl for a sum of ten million CFA francs. And of this envelope, Herman should receive half. “The little one knows me very well. I worked on a construction site for his parents. Mr. Eric told me that on Wednesdays, the girl always comes home alone. That’s why I came the day before,” he says. Wednesday, October 18, in fact, little Hillary is taken on a motorcycle which will drop her off a few meters from the family home. Meanwhile, Herman is still waiting for his prey. “When I saw him coming down, I came out of my hiding place. She saw me and ran towards me. This is how I asked her to come with me to get some equipment and we had to go home,” adds the 23-year-old young man.

Kidnapping successful. ” His name is. I thought it was a joke. It’s when I call back and I hear my daughter’s voice that I start to panic,” confides the victim. The kidnapping will only last a few hours, since the victim will be found and released thanks to elements of the First Gendarmerie Region of the Center. “We ask parents to always take the time to accompany their children and pick them up at the end of school. It’s very important,” says Lieutenant-Colonel Awong Gérard. For the moment, nothing is filtered on the fate reserved for Hillary’s kidnappers. “It is at the end of the conclusions of the investigations that we will establish the responsibility of each person, as well as the method of prosecution,” declared Gaspard Mbabe, substitute for the government commissioner.
