El Dorado High School Booster Club Funds Allegedly Stolen, Inquiry underway
El Dorado, KS – The El Dorado High School Booster Club has reported the theft โฃof funds intended to support student activities, โคprompting a police โinvestigation and a scrambleโฃ to mitigate theโข impact โคon students. The alleged theft was discovered recently, leaving the โคbooster club and โschool district working to recover lost resources and ensure continued support for extracurricular programs.
The El Dorado Police Department is currently investigating the situation, according to El Dorado Public Schoolsโ Superintendent Jennifer davis. The missing funds were managed by a formerโ booster club treasurer who is no โlonger employed by the district. The loss threatens toโ curtail booster club initiatives throughout the remainder of โthe school year,โข perhaps impacting a wide range of student โprograms and activities. “That means all the kids get to โขmiss out for the rest of the year,” said community member โฃJessica Shover.
In response, the schoolโ district โisโ allocating emergency funds to assistโฃ the booster club in continuing its support โof students. The district is also โpartnering with โthe booster clubโ to purchase staff and student merchandise for sale. “We encourage our communityโค to visit the booster club page or stop by the booster club kiosk at the next game,” โขDavis saidโ in a statement.โค
Community members are rallying to support the booster club. “Those kids, they need that club,” said Ashley Wyman. “This something they โขneed. Donate a dollar, donateโข 10 bucks, something for them.”
