Saut Situmorang, a figure with a background in intelligence, has been associated with the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP).
According to Tribunnews.com, Situmorang pursued his undergraduate studies in Physics at Padjajaran University in bandung, West Java. He later obtained a Master of Management from the University of Krisnadwipayana and completed his doctoral program at the Indonesian Education University (UPI).
Situmorang’s career includes a tenure as Secretary III at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore from 1997 to 2001. He also served within the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), holding positions such as Director of Monitoring and Surveillance and Expert Staff to the Head of BIN. Additionally, he contributed as a lecturer at the State Intelligence College (STIL).

during his time at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Saut Situmorang was involved in the handling of critically important corruption cases, including the e-KTP procurement scandal. This investigation notably led to the indictment of Setya Novanto, who was the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament and Chairman of the golkar Party. Reports indicate that the KPK’s pursuit of this case prompted a meeting with then-President Joko Widodo, who reportedly requested the case be halted.
