written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Kim Seong-ho, the 2nd general coordinator of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (head of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security’s Disaster and Safety Management Headquarters), said on the 1st, “As the World Health Organization decided to maintain an international public health emergency on the 30th, the danger of Corona 19 has not yet disappeared.” .

Second General Coordinator Kim, who presided over the meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters on this day, said, “From this Monday, the obligation to wear an indoor mask was adjusted as a recommendation, and we were able to take an important step towards daily recovery.”

In particular, he was concerned that “(Corona 19) fatality rate is still high at 0.08%, and the proportion of presumed reinfection cases among confirmed cases has continued to rise since the third week of October to record 22.8%.”

In response, he emphasized, “The government will closely monitor the possibility of re-proliferation due to the inflow from China and the adjustment of mask wearing obligations, and will ensure that the quarantine situation is stably managed.”

Second General Coordinator Kim said, “We will inspect and guide the wearing of masks indoors for facilities that are vulnerable to infection and other mandatory facilities for wearing masks, and we will do our best to check the quarantine response and control infection in preparation for group infections in schools.”

“In order to protect the high-risk group and move toward a full daily recovery, vaccination and voluntary quarantine efforts are still important,” he stressed.

At the same time, he urged, “Those subject to vaccination in high-risk groups, such as those over the age of 60, actively participate in additional vaccinations during the winter season, and the public should also follow the quarantine rules in daily life, such as wearing masks in public transportation.”

On the other hand, Second General Coordinator Kim added, “This is thanks to the dedicated medical staff and quarantine officials on the front line, and the public who actively participated in compliance with quarantine rules.”

President Yoon Seok-yeol explored ways to develop quantum technology and global solidarity and cooperation at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 20th that President Yoon visited ETH Zurich (hereinafter referred to as ‘Zurich Federal University of Technology’) on the 19th (local time) and had a ‘conversation with quantum scholars’.

This event was prepared as a place to listen to the opinions of global quantum technology scholars in order to prepare a national quantum strategy to leap forward as a leading country in quantum technology, which will be a future industrial security game changer.

With the participation of distinguished scholars from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and Korean scholar Professor Myung-Sik Kim from Imperial College in England, it was decided to strengthen cooperation in the field of science and technology on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Switzerland.

ETH Zurich is a university that has produced 22 Nobel laureates, including Einstein and von Neumann, and is leading quantum research in Europe. In particular, it is evaluated to have the highest level of technology in superconducting quantum computers.

In addition, ETH Zurich is conducting cooperation with domestic universities and research institutes in various fields of science and technology, such as cooperative research, manpower exchange, and infrastructure construction.

Mutual visits and research by young researchers in the doctoral course are also actively carried out. Since 2016, about 20 science and technology researchers have exchanged with ETH Zurich.

At this event, Prof. Andreas Ballaf, the presenter, suggested that ETH Zurich became a strong player in the field of quantum technology, including the full support of the Swiss government, such as the national quantum research program, outstanding students from all over the world, and an international cooperation network.

Then, President Yoon said that quantum technology is the core of future strategic technology, and asked how quantum technology will change our future and what preparations the Republic of Korea should make to develop quantum technology.

Also, after hearing the importance of fostering human resources and international cooperation, they revealed their will and strategic plans to become a leading country in quantum technology.

In addition, he said that this year will be the first year for quantum technology to take off, and international cooperation, such as research and manpower exchange, will be expanded with leading countries such as Switzerland in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Korea-Switzerland diplomatic ties along with manpower training.

Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-ho, who was present on the day, said, “The conversation with the scholars was a meaningful occasion to sympathize with the need for solidarity and cooperation with leading countries in quantum technology such as Switzerland, and to review the tasks necessary for Korea to leap forward in quantum technology.”

“The Ministry of Science and ICT will expand joint R&D and human resources exchange with leading countries such as Switzerland in earnest along with fostering human resources in the field of quantum technology, and establish a vision and strategy for the development of Korea’s mid- to long-term quantum technology, so that this year will make a leap forward in quantum technology, both in name and reality. We will make it a new starting point for the future.”

In addition, he added, “We will systematically support by preparing a manpower map that includes the current state of manpower and development plans for 12 national strategic technologies such as quantum technology and semiconductors.”

Meanwhile, prior to the event, President Yoon looked at transcripts, lecture notes, and letters left by Einstein, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921, while attending ETH Zurich.

Received 2070 illegal acts at 1489 construction sites nationwide… Damage 168.6 billion Won – Policy News | news

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 19, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

#A Construction Company has paid a total of 3.8 billion won in the name of monthly wages over 697 times to 44 tower crane pilots at 18 sites over the past 4 years.

#B construction company was forced to pay full-time from 10 unions in October 2021, and paid 15.47 million won per month for 1 million won to 2 million won per union.

#C construction company was forced to pay a development fund if they did not hire or respond to this from a union from October 2021 to February 2022. In the end, the construction company provided 3 million won as a development fund instead of hiring union members in March 2022.

On the 12th, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong visits the construction site of Happy House in Myeonggok District, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, and inspects the construction progress for a meeting on the eradication of illegal activities at the construction site. (Photo = Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport)

As a result of the fact-finding survey on illegal activities at construction sites conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for about two weeks, 2070 cases of illegal acts, such as extortion of monthly wages, were reported at 1489 sites nationwide.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 19th the results of a survey conducted by 12 construction-related organizations, including the Korea Construction Association, the Korea Housing Association, and the Korea Professional Construction Association.

Construction sites where illegal activities occurred accounted for 45.6% (681 places) in the metropolitan area and 34.9% (521 places) in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam areas. 80% of reports of illegal activities were concentrated in the two regions.

By type of illegal activity, requests for monthly wages accounted for more than half at 58.7% (1,215 cases). Cases of forcing union members to pay full-time wages followed with 27.4% (567 cases), followed by forced use of equipment with 3.3% (68 cases).

118 companies that submitted damages responded that they had suffered damages of 168.6 billion won over the past three years. As little as 6 million won and as much as 5 billion won in damage occurred in one company.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs explained that this is the result of counting damages only for companies with evidence such as account payment details, excluding the company’s own estimate, and that most of the tower crane monthly wages and forced labor union fees accounted for the majority.

329 construction sites responded that there was a delay in construction due to illegal activities at the construction site, and it was investigated that the delay ranged from at least two days to as long as 120 days.

At the apartment construction site of D Construction, construction was delayed for one month because four construction unions interfered with the work by controlling the access of foreign workers.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was scheduled to conduct an investigation into the illegal act by the 13th of this month, but said that the report continued.

Accordingly, starting next week, each association will create an anonymous bulletin board to receive online reports. It was decided to check the contents of the report in detail and request an investigation into cases in which the facts of the damage were specified.

In addition, in the case of construction sites that have recently suffered damage and are still under construction, intensive inspections are conducted by utilizing regional consultative bodies organized by five regional land management offices, local police agencies, branch offices of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and regional offices of the Fair Trade Commission. .

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong said, “In the meantime, private construction companies have been helplessly dragged into illegal activities by construction unions, and have not even reported to the police for fear of reprisal.” .

Then, he said, “I ask private construction companies to actively report so that the construction site is no longer left unattended as a lawless zone by the union.”

Related damage reports can be made to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (☎1577-8221) or the National Police Agency (☎112).

Intentionally deleting “Democratization Movement 5 18” in the revised 2022 curriculum? That’s not true – here’s the truth | news

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 4, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Education Ministry said: “The report that the government intentionally deleted ‘Democratization Movement 5 18’ from the revised 2022 curriculum is not true.”

[교육부 설명]

□ The report that the government intentionally deleted “Democratization Movement 5 18” from the revised 2022 curriculum is not true.

ㅇ In the 2022 revised curriculum, since the “learning element” element was omitted from all subjects, the descriptions of individual and specific historical events, including the “5 18 Democratization Movement”, were minimized in the history curriculum.

ㅇ The policy research team, which was formed in December 2021 and developed the history curriculum, also reduced the description of specific historical events (terms) with this purpose.

□ Names of specific historical events have been omitted, but like the current curriculum, the 2022 revised curriculum has developed relevant achievement standards so that students can learn the process of the democratization movement from the April 19 Revolution to the Democratic Uprising of June.

ㅇ In order to ensure that the omitted “learning elements” are described in the textbook development stage, we will actively examine the reflection of the contents in future textbook compilation standards.

we go together! Winter Winter Festival – Politics spoken by the people | news

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 16, 2022
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Winter version of the companion festival! The Midwinter Accompaniment Festival, the Winter Winter Festival is back. Even if there is no specific request to come, the heart is busy and exciting at the end of the year, it is a time when I want to somehow make a small sign of my sincerity for the people around me as well as a gift for myself. But still tight pockets… There is one big event that will melt your heart at the right time, and that is the Winter Winter Festival.

The first thing to prepare for the Winter Festival to help small, medium and small entrepreneurs in difficulty and recover consumer sentiment frozen like the cold is the Onnuri Gift Voucher. For the month of December, you can buy all Onnuri gift cards up to 1 million won at a 10% discount, regardless of card, card or mobile. It is done on a total scale of 500 billion won and can end early depending on your budget and stock of gift cards.

The Winter Winter Festival, held for 10 days from December 16 to 25, is largely divided into public events such as offline sharing events, online discount exhibitions, live trading, and 10,000 won happiness events. Among them, the most eye-catching is the winning planning exhibition, which is online shopping that can be enjoyed anywhere in the country.

There are not only one or two online malls like Coupang, Auction and 11th Street installed on your mobile phone, but also a subscription economy for regular ordering, malls representing the region, side dishes and delivery apps, as well as direct to ‘overseas buy app You can enjoy shopping at a reasonable price. With discounts of up to 80%, it’s quite literally a gift that comes.

If you request a receipt after paying at least 10,000 won at a small business store, traditional market or regional sharing bazaar, you can become a lucky star up to 2 million won (Source = https://winter-winterfestival.kr )

Online, I was able to enjoy the festival a little earlier. This is because many online malls already sell discount coupons. While browsing, the first thing that caught my eye was my favorite side dish delivery app. It’s hard to have three meals a day, so I often have side dishes delivered or bought at the market. However, a whopping 30% off coupon is issued for regular subscriptions of kids’ side dish packs. I applied for a regular membership for about 25,000 won using the winter/winter festival coupon for a side dish package with a regular price of 50,800 won and a discounted price of about 36,000 won. In other words, they could prepare a big meal for the kids for half the general price.

And for my husband, who has been paying attention to hair loss and wrinkles around the eyes lately, I really liked it and ordered a skin care set from a well-known brand. Of course, it’s a secret to my husband that I bought it cheap using a 30% coupon. Now that I have prepared gifts for my family, I am about to roll my eyes once again and prepare a gift for myself when the Winter Winter Festival officially starts.

When the winter/winter festival starts on December 16, the most important thing to take care of is the receipts. If you pay more than 10,000 won in a small business shop, traditional market or regional sharing bazaar and upload it to the event website within the period, you can become the protagonist of a mobile Onnuri gift card worth 2 million of won.

As of December 2022, while consuming what I need, I like to buy sparingly, and the self-employed are good at boosting sales, so it’s a win-win, wintry party that kills two birds with one stone! There is no reason not to participate. No, there are too many reasons to participate.

Event Period: Dec 16 (Fri) ~ Dec 25 (Sun), 2022
