In particular, he was concerned that “(Corona 19) fatality rate is still high at 0.08%, and the proportion of presumed reinfection cases among confirmed cases has continued to rise since the third week of October to record 22.8%.”
In response, he emphasized, “The government will closely monitor the possibility of re-proliferation due to the inflow from China and the adjustment of mask wearing obligations, and will ensure that the quarantine situation is stably managed.”
Second General Coordinator Kim said, “We will inspect and guide the wearing of masks indoors for facilities that are vulnerable to infection and other mandatory facilities for wearing masks, and we will do our best to check the quarantine response and control infection in preparation for group infections in schools.”
“In order to protect the high-risk group and move toward a full daily recovery, vaccination and voluntary quarantine efforts are still important,” he stressed.
At the same time, he urged, “Those subject to vaccination in high-risk groups, such as those over the age of 60, actively participate in additional vaccinations during the winter season, and the public should also follow the quarantine rules in daily life, such as wearing masks in public transportation.”
