Ulrikke, Pernille & Ragnhild Launch Raw & Honest Motherhood Podcast or New Podcast: Norwegian Stars Share Unfiltered Motherhood Experiences

Oslo, Norway – Podimo is launching a new podcast, “Mammachatten” (The Mom Chat), on March 2nd, featuring Ulrikke Brandstorp, Pernille Molvær Maurstad, and Ragnhild Margrethe Grødal. The podcast aims to provide an unfiltered glance into the realities of motherhood.

The three hosts, described as well-known personalities in Norway, will discuss topics ranging from sleepless nights and automatic feeding routines to changes in the body, strains on relationships, financial pressures during parental leave, and the search for identity beyond motherhood. Brandstorp described a demand for a space where mothers could speak openly. “We missed a place where you can say what it is. Where you can laugh at the chaos, cry a little, disagree and still stand together,” she said in a press release.

“Mammachatten” will also feature a panel of experts, including a midwife, general practitioner, psychologist, sexologist, sleep consultant, and financial advisor, to address common questions and concerns. Maurstad emphasized the intention to create a judgment-free environment. “There is a lot of love in mom talk, but also a lot of guilt. We aim for to create a space without ‘mom-shaming’. No right answers, just experiences, and honest conversations about what actually happens after childbirth,” she stated.

The podcast will delve into previously untold birth stories, intimacy after childbirth, adjusting to a changed body, the economics of parental leave, and how relationships evolve with the arrival of a child. The hosts also envision “Mammachatten” extending beyond the podcast format, hoping to foster a community where mothers can connect and share experiences both online and offline. Grødal expressed this ambition, stating, “It’s easy to feel alone, even if you know you’re not. We hope ‘Mammachatten’ can become more than a podcast – a universe, a group of mothers who identify each other, share experiences and maybe also meet outside the podcast bubble. You are not just a listener. You are part of the mom chat.”

Stian Letessier, Head of Content at Podimo Norway, highlighted the hosts’ ability to articulate experiences many mothers share but often hesitate to discuss. “Ulrikke, Pernille and Ragnhild have a knack for putting words to what many people feel, but few talk about openly. They combine warmth and humor with a honesty that gives the conversations weight. That makes them strong voices in a podcast that should encompass the whole spectrum of becoming a mother – even what isn’t always so polished,” Letessier said.

New episodes of “Mammachatten” will be released every Monday, exclusively on Podimo.

NRK’s “Code Red” Faces Backlash From Viewers Over Reality Format

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 27, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Norway’s public broadcaster, NRK, is facing criticism over its new reality television series, “Kode rød” (Red Code), which premiered on February 21, 2026. Even as the display has drawn a substantial audience – exceeding 470,000 viewers for the first episode – it has likewise prompted complaints from viewers who feel the program fails to deliver on its premise of simulating a crisis situation and instead devolves into standard reality TV tropes.

“Kode rød” strands ten celebrities on Ryvingen fyr, a remote island off the coast of Norway, without electricity or communication with the outside world. Participants are tasked with navigating limited resources and competing in challenges, with one contestant eliminated each night until a single winner remains. The cast includes artist Emil Solli-Tangen, comedian Terje Sporsem and reality personality Rikke Isaksen, among others.

According to Nettavisen, NRK has received eight formal complaints regarding the show. One viewer, who had previously never lodged a complaint with the broadcaster, expressed disappointment that a program set in a “year of preparedness” – a reference to increased national focus on crisis readiness – focused more on alliances and elimination tactics than on genuine crisis management skills. “This isn’t about managing with limited resources, collaborating, or sharing knowledge. ‘Kode rød’ is about forming alliances before even getting settled, about who over 40 will be voted out first – and about lies and withholding information,” the viewer wrote in their complaint.

Criticism extends to social media, where viewers have described the series as a “bloodless reality show” and a waste of time. Some have also questioned the age demographic of the contestants, noting that seven of the ten participants are between 25 and 35, potentially alienating older viewers. “You might attract younger viewers with this, but you’re losing us who used to watch NRK,” one Facebook user commented.

Responding to the criticism, Kristin Werner Sandven, project leader for “Kode rød” at NRK, acknowledged the complaints and stated that the broadcaster is taking feedback into consideration. Sandven noted the show represents a new format and that it may take time for audiences to adjust. She also defended the program’s emphasis on interpersonal dynamics, arguing that the pressure created by limited resources reveals “interesting human reactions” in a simulated crisis. “We believe that the pressure that arises from scarcity of resources brings out interesting human reactions in a simulated crisis situation, and we want to stimulate viewers to discuss preparedness – and how they themselves would act in an emergency,” Sandven said.

NRK maintains that the program has been well-received and Sandven emphasized the broadcaster’s commitment to developing its concepts based on audience feedback. The broadcaster has not indicated whether it will alter the format of the show in response to the criticism, but stated it will continue to monitor viewer response as the series progresses.

Unexpected Claim: Item May Be Worn in Underwear

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor February 23, 2026

A blue pair of underwear found hanging on a jacket hook at a bar in Fredrikstad, Norway, has sparked a local search for its owner. Rune Østhagen, the owner of the Hoi Polloi bar, initiated the search after the garment was discovered over the weekend, according to a report in Dagbladet.

Østhagen described being surprised by the discovery, noting that while patrons frequently leave items behind – glasses, shoes, even Viagra pills – a piece of underwear was a first. “It is the first time someone has forgotten a pair of underwear,” he told the newspaper. He added that the underwear was displayed “so neatly and tidily as a jacket,” prompting him to post a picture on Facebook in an attempt to locate the owner.

The post, described as a “truseinnlegg” (underwear post) by Dagbladet, offered the owner the opportunity to reclaim the item starting Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Østhagen jokingly suggested he anticipated a potential queue of claimants. As of Monday, the owner remains unidentified and no one has come forward to claim the blue underwear.

The incident has garnered attention in Norwegian media. Dagbladet is maintaining contact with Østhagen and will continue to report on the situation. The bar owner has invited tips from the public, providing contact information for those with information about the missing garment.

Christy Carlson Romano Shares Emotional Health Update: “My Tests Were Not Negative”

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 19, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Singer and actress Christy Carlson Romano, 41, revealed she has received medical test results that were “not negative” in a tearful video posted to Instagram on Thursday, February 19, 2026. The actress, known for her roles in Disney’s “Even Stevens” and as the voice of “Kim Possible,” shared that while her husband, Brendan Rooney, received negative results from the same tests, hers require further investigation.

Romano explained that she and Rooney underwent cancer screenings due to a family history of the disease. Both of her parents have been diagnosed with cancer; her father succumbed to the illness, and her maternal grandmother died of lung cancer. “My husband’s results were negative. My tests were not negative,” she said in the video. “I’m now going to be looked at further for signs of cancer, heart disease, and brain diseases. I’m now fighting with insurance companies to get this covered.”

The announcement came shortly after the death of actor James Van Der Beek, who passed away on February 11, 2026, at age 48 after being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023. Romano, who resides in Austin, Texas, shared her grief and highlighted Van Der Beek’s community involvement. “I live in Austin, and I met James Van Der Beek many times. His family is fantastic. He was a pillar in the community here in Texas. They did so much good, and now he’s not with us anymore. Cancer is everywhere. That’s why I took this test,” she stated, visibly emotional.

Romano acknowledged the emotional weight of her own test results, stating, “I’m sure some people consider I’m overreacting, but I’m not. Cancer is pretty serious, and I have two little girls.” She shares daughters Sophia, 7, and Isabella, 9, with Rooney. She emphasized the importance of gratitude and taking life “one day at a time.”

Christy Carlson Romano began her career with the role of Ren Stevens in the Disney series “Even Stevens” in 2000 and simultaneously voiced the title character in the animated series “Kim Possible.” She has also appeared in films including “Cadet Kelly,” “Taking Five,” “The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold,” and “Mirrors 2.”
