Trevor Noah, Kansas City Chiefs‘ Entertainment Arm Team Up for Soccer Documentary
Kansas City, Missouri’s Global FC, a team of teen soccer players, will be teh subject of a new documentary produced by Day Zero Productions – a venture between Paramount Global and former Daily Show host Trevor Noah – and Foolish Club Studios, the entertainment arm of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. The film will follow Global FC‘s 30-day journey to compete in the USA Cup,a national tournament featuring 15,000 players and 1,100 teams from 20 U.S. states and 20 countries, with college scouts in attendance.
The documentary will also explore the players’ off-field challenges, including jobs, family responsibilities, food insecurity, cultural barriers, and experiences with violence and poverty.
“The story of Global FC and the players and coaches who pour themselves into the team each and every day is a reminder that people are stronger than their circumstances,” said Foolish Club Studios CEO Mark Donovan. “We are thrilled to be joining Wavelength Productions, as well as Trevor Noah and his team at Day Zero Productions to bring this one-of-a-kind Kansas City soccer story to a global audience.”

The project’s declaration comes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with Kansas City serving as a host city.
Day Zero Productions’ current projects include an adaptation of Trevor Noah’s autobiography Born A Crime starring Lupita Nyong’o, a reimagining of President’s Analyst, and an R-rated romantic comedy.The company previously produced The World According to football for Showtime and Last one Laughing with Amazon.
