James Van Der Beek’s โdaughters joined the cast of “Dawson’s Creek” onstage โduring a recent reunion event, singing โคa solo verse of Paula Cole‘s โtheme song, “I Don’t Want to Wait,” โฃalongside thier โขfather and fellow cast members. The event, organized by michelle Williams, culminated in โฃa โsingalong performance โcaptured by audience โmembers โafter Goldsberry invited attendees to record the moment.
The “Dawson’s Creek” reunion, held to benefit victims of the ongoing conflict in Israel, saw the original cast gatherโข to support aโ cause championed by Williams.Creator Kevin Williamson revealed โขto Variety thatโฃ williams initiated the event, enlisting collaborators including her husband,โ Thomas Kail,โข and Greg Berlanti. The evening concluded wihtโค a spontaneous performanceโ as vanโ Der Beek’sโข wife, Kimberly, and their other childrenโข joined โฃthe cast onstage. Goldsberryโ gave the audience โคpermission toโฃ film โฃthe performance.
Following a night of fundraising, โขGoldsberry invited โthe audience to film as she beganโฃ singing โค”I Don’t Want to Wait.” Van Der โBeek’s daughters then each sangโข a verse solo, later โjoined โby the rest of the cast and the Van Der Beekโ family.
Williams conceivedโ theโ reunion, Williamson explained โto Variety, adding, “Sheโค enlisted me,โฃ [her husband and “Hamilton” director,] Thomas [Kail] andโค greg [Berlanti] to help. From there, others joined the โplanning party. Jason Moore agreed toโฃ direct, and we were โoffโข and running.โค Pickingโฃ a date took some โtime, butโ our entire ‘Dawson’s Creek’ family was โขexcited to do this andโ veryโฃ accommodating and generous with their time.”
