‘Portrait of God‘ Horror โMovieโ Teaming Jordan Peele, Sam Raimi In Works
Global Pictures is developing a feature film adaptation of Dylan Clark’s viral โคhorror short, Portrait โofโค God. The short, wich has garnered over 8.6 million views on โฃYouTube since its August 2022 premiere, centers on a minimalisticโค yet menacing depiction โof a figure perceived differently by viewers-someโค seeing only darkness, others aโ consistent, disturbingโค image.
Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld will โคproduce through their Monkeypaw Productions, alongside Sam Raimi and Romel Adam of โGhost House Pictures, and Russo. Chris Rosati, who โinitially brought the project โขto Monkeypaw, will executive produce,โฃ with Sam Evenson co-producing. Jose โขCaรฑas will oversee forโ Ghost House, kate Oh for Monkeypaw,โ and Sara Scott, Executive Vice President of Production Advancement, for Universal.
Dylan โขClark, a genre filmmaker known for his work exploring the intersection of horror with religion and technology, will adapt the short for the big screen. His other short films have alsoโค achieved notable online viewership. Clark is currently writing and directing an adaptation of his short film โ Story Time, produced by Zak โOlkewicz and LD Entertainment. He is represented by 3 Arts, UTA and โGinsburg Daniels Kallis.
The project comes as โคMonkeypaw โคrecently released him, starring Tyriq Withers and Marlon Wayans. Jordan Peele’s next directorial effort, initially slated for release this pastโข December, has been repeatedly delayed and was ultimately removed from Universal’s schedule in September.
Ghost House Pictures recently wrapped production onโค Play Dead and Evil Dead Burn. Evil Deadโ Burn, the sixthโ installment in the Evil Dead franchise directed byโข Sรฉbastien Vanicek, is scheduled for release on July 24, 2026, with a seventh installment currently in development, written and to be directed by francis Galluppi.
