Jonathan is scheduled to play the round of 32 match at BAC 2023 at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, today, Wednesday (26/4). The badminton player who is placed as the first seed will face Shi Yu Qi.
However, Jonathan was later confirmed to have resigned. This information was conveyed by PBSI through its social media account.
Men’s singles trainer Irwansyah revealed Jonathan’s condition. The examination results showed that there was an infection in the blood of the 2023 Indonesia Masters champion.
“So yesterday afternoon, we had time to practice at the practice court. Jonathan also followed the training program well,” said Irwansyah, as seen by detikSport on PBSI’s social media account.
“But that afternoon Jonathan suddenly vomited in his room. Then we consulted with the PBSI doctor and finally he was taken to the hospital.”
“At the hospital, Jojo’s blood was taken and given an IV. The results of the blood tests found an infection in his blood.”
“This morning, his condition has improved but he is still weak, so we decided to withdraw,” said Irwansyah.
