BREAKING: Nationwide “good Trouble” Protests Planned, Central Ohio Sites Announced
Organizers are mobilizing for a series of “Good Trouble” protests across teh nation, with a critically important number of events scheduled in central Ohio. These demonstrations are being framed as a response to what organizers describe as “the most brazen rollback of civil rights in generations” attributed to the Trump management.
The central Ohio leg of the protests is being coordinated by a coalition of organizations including the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, Indivisible Central Ohio, the amos Project, Columbus Stand Up!, Common Cause Ohio, and the Ohio Women’s Alliance. Several of these groups were also involved in the “No Kings” demonstrations, which reportedly drew millions of participants at over 2,100 locations.
As of Tuesday afternoon, July 15, national organizers reported 126,000 RSVPs for “Good Trouble” events, with more than 1,600 events planned nationwide.
Central Ohio “Good Trouble” Protest Locations and Times:
At least nine “Good Trouble” protests are slated to take place in central Ohio.The confirmed locations and times are as follows:
Columbus: Second Baptist Church, 186 N. 17th St., from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Columbus: Ohio Statehouse rally, 1 Capitol Square, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Delaware City: By the Rutherford B. Hayes statue and adjacent street corners on William and Sandusky streets,from Noon to 1 p.m.
Hilliard: Warehouse 839 parking lot, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
London: Madison County Courthouse, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Newark: Licking County Courthouse Square, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Reynoldsburg: Reynoldsburg City Hall/Municipal Building, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
sunbury: Intersection of North Columbus and East cherry streets,from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
* Westerville: Westerville City Hall, 21 S. State St., from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
