hollywood Stars Join Nationwide Protests Against Trump Policies
Los Angeles,CA – October 19,2025 – A wave of protests under the banner “No Kings” swept across major U.S. cities on saturday, October 18, 2025, wiht prominent Hollywood figures adding their voices to the opposition against President Donald Trump’s policies. Demonstrations took place in Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C.,fueled by concerns over perceived threats to democracy,immigration raids,the deployment of government troops in U.S. cities, and cuts to federal programs, particularly health services.
Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel used his Instagram account to share a graphic featuring critical nicknames for Trump, including ”Commander-in-Thief,” “Greedy McGolfy,” “Mar-a-Lardo,” “Orange Julius Caesar,” and “Uncle Scam,” accompanied by the caption, “Donald Trump LOVES a good nickname.”
Actor John Cusack was reported by News 4 San Antonio to have attended the Chicago protest, stating, “It’s all sad. To see a kind of fascist authoritarian costume… that has long been engineered by the right wing, to see it transformed into a real costume is predictable, but very sad.”
Glenn Close, known for her role as Cruella De Vil, posted a photo of herself with a banner reading, “No oligarchs. No dictators. No despots. No autocrats. No kings!!”
Protesters carried signs with slogans like “Democracy not Monarchy” and “The Constitution is not optional.” Organizers emphasized non-violence and urged participants to avoid confrontation. Demands included protecting democracy and abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, a focal point of Trump’s anti-immigrant policies. Demonstrators condemned what they described as the President’s harsh tactics targeting the media, political opponents, and undocumented immigrants.
