The Chicago Bears are poised to get two keyโข defensive players back on the โfield Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Cornerback Jaylon johnson and โlinebacker T.J. Edwards, both sidelined due to injury, are trending towards playing,โ providing a significant boostโ to theโค Bears’ defence.
Johnson missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury, and Edwards was limited in โpractices leading up to the game. However,โฃ both โขplayers have shownโ positiveโ progress this week. Edwardsโ was a limited participant in Wednesday and โthursday’s practices before practicing fully on Friday.Johnson noted Edwards “looks very good” compared to last week,โข adding, “T.J. Edwards โis coming along just fine.”
Defensive tackle Grady โฃJarrett (knee) is listed as questionable, having โbeen limited in Friday’s practice after missing Wednesdayโ and โThursday. Receiver Jahdae Walker (ankle) is doubtful, after practicingโ inโ a limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday but โnot participating Friday.
Nickel back Kyler Gordon (hamstring)โ is the only Bear ruled out for Sunday’s game, marking his second consecutive absence.Nick mccloud started in Gordon’s place โขagainstโฃ the vikings, playing โ82% of the defensive snaps.
