Frisco,TX – Dallas Cowboys rookieโฃ running back Jaydon Blue says he’s “very โconfident” asโ he prepares for a potential NFL debut against the New York Jets this Sunday,following weeks of focused โขimprovement and encouragementโ from the coaching staff.โ Blue, a third-round pick outโข of LSU, has been working to refine his consistency in practice and planning, addressing concerns raised by offensive coordinator โBrian Schottenheimer.
Blue โคacknowledged Schottenheimer informedโข him โคapproximately โtwoโข weeks ago that โwhile his โtalent was evident, greater consistency was needed to โearn playing time. “He let me know that I needed to be aโ little more consistent, because the talent levelโ was there,” โคBlue said. “He just told me I coudl be more consistent,โ and Iโข was kind of seeingโข it โฃfor myself.” He responded by concentrating on theโค finer details of the game, both in practiceโฃ and โfilm study.
The rookieโ emphasized โคthe importance โof finishing plays correctly, โขdiligent playbook study, and meticulousโค attention to detail. “Just making sure thatโ I’m finishing the right way and practicing hard. โฃStaying โขin the playbook, just making sureโค that I’m doing the small details right so I can be able to perform at the highest levelโฆ” Blue explained. Blue has leaned on โฃveteran teammates Javonte Williams andโ Miles Sanders for guidance, describing them as players who “do all the โฃthings right” and practice with the professionalism he โคaspires to. “Javonte and Miles โare two older guys in the room, they do allโ the โคthings right. They practice the rightโข way โand those are two guys that I talk to every day and I’mโ very closeโฃ with,” he said.
