Perry Farrell Makes โขMusical Return wiht Carl โCox Collaboration, “Joya“
Perry Farrell, โฃfrontman of Jane’s Addiction, has emerged with a new musical contribution, appearing on electronic artistโค Carl Cox’s recently released track,โ “Joya.” The collaboration marks โFarrell’s firstโ publicly released work since Jane’s Addictionโค abruptly halted โtouring plans last year following a health incident.
The song’s release signals a potential return to music for Farrell, who has maintained a โlow profile since the band’s tour cancellation. While Jane’s Addiction members have continued making music together without him, “Joya” represents Farrell’s direct re-entryโข into the creative landscape. Cox โshared his excitement about the collaboration, โขstating, “When the opportunity came to work with Perry, I jumped at it andโฃ sent himโค the idea for Joya! It โคjust came together so beautifully, andโข I have been proud to play it as the closer for all of my โขsets in the last year. people respond to โit โขwith such joy, and thatโ is what I wasโ aiming for all along! Joya!” Farrellโฃ himselfโ added, “Itโฃ means theโค world to me that we’re making people so happy with ourโ music..Joyaaaaaah!”
Theโค collaboration arrives amid a period of personal reflection for Farrell. Following the Jane’s โAddictionโข tour pause, his wife, Ettyโ Liu, โคannounced the โคcouple would be “taking a bit of โtime to ourselves, to โฃreflect and to heal,” with Farrell schedulingโ appointments with medical specialists. Beyond “Joya,” Farrell is alsoโฃ slated โto join guitarist Robby โคKrieger at a 60th-anniversaryโ concert celebrating The Doors later this month, further indicating a renewed focus on โmusical projects.
