Prague – Czech composer Jan P. Muchow, known for his โwork with theโข band The Ecstasy of Saint Theresaโข and extensive film scoring, has died, reports Czech media. He wasโ 65.
Muchow’s career spanned decades, beginning with theโข formation of The โคEcstasy of Saint theresa in 1991. The band gained international attention, receiving airplay from BBC presenter John Peel โขand signing with aโ British label. โฃThough initiallyโข without vocalist Lucia Winterovรก, Muchow later collaborated with her on three albums – In Dust 3, Slowthinking (which won an Andฤlโ award for album of the year), and Watching Black (2006). Beyond the band, Muchow composed music for approximately fifty films and television series, including Men in Hope and Criminal Angel.He also contributed โคthe hit song “Pลฏlnoฤni” for Vรกclav Neckรกล withโ the band Umakart and provided musical accompaniment for the czech Lions awards ceremonyโค in 2022 with The Antagonists.
Recently, โThe Ecstasy of Saint Theresa released a music video inspired by silent film star lyda Salmonova, โขshowcasing a continued creative drive. Details surrounding Muchow’s โdeath โฃhave not been immediately released.
