R102 Million PowerBall & PowerBall Plus: Results for Tuesday, 3 March 2026

by Priya Shah – Business Editor March 2, 2026
written by Priya Shah – Business Editor

South Africans are hoping for a stroke of luck as the PowerBall and PowerBall Plus jackpots roll over to a combined R102 million for the draw on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The substantial prize comes after no winners emerged from Friday’s draw, marking the tenth consecutive rollover since a near-record R179-million jackpot was won in January.

The main PowerBall jackpot currently stands at R68 million, while PowerBall Plus offers a R34 million prize. Players can participate by selecting five numbers from 1 to 50, and a PowerBall number from 1 to 20, at a cost of R7.50 per ticket. The odds of winning the PowerBall jackpot are approximately 1 in 42,310,220.

Friday’s PowerBall numbers were 11, 14, 24, 32, and 43, with the PowerBall being 02. The PowerBall Plus numbers were 27, 31, 36, 37, and 43, with a PowerBall of 04.

ITHUBA, the operator of the National Lottery, notes that the average PowerBall jackpot payout is R22 million, making Tuesday’s R102 million offering nearly five times higher than usual. The company also highlighted a recent trend: the last two major jackpot winners utilized the “Quick Pick” feature, an auto-generated entry available through banking apps.

Tickets for Tuesday’s draw are available until 20:30, with the official draw taking place at 21:00. Purchases can be made online via the National Lottery website or mobile app, or at participating retail outlets.

Claiming winnings requires a valid winning ticket, proof of identity, a South African bank account less than three months old, and adherence to the 365-day claim deadline. Prizes up to R2,000 can be claimed at retail stores. Winnings between R10,000 and R49,999 require a visit to an Approved Prize Payment Centre (APPC). Amounts from R49,999 to R249,999 can be claimed via EFT through participating banks (excluding African Bank, which has a limit of R49,999). Jackpots exceeding R250,000 necessitate an in-person claim at an ITHUBA office.

While the odds remain long, the substantial jackpot has drawn increased attention. A separate Lotto draw this weekend offers R54 million, with slightly better odds of 1 in 40,410,235, and an average payout of R5.95 million.
