Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Family in Israel whose relatives were hostages Hamas furious after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shot dead three resistance group prisoners Palestine the.

The IDF said their troops killed three Hamas prisoners on Friday (15/12). They said the captives were carrying white flags and shouting for help in Hebrew.

News of the prisoner’s killing sparked protests in Israel. The families of the hostages worry that their loved ones will be the next victims.

“All we get again and again are dead hostages,” said the child whose father is still held hostage, Noam Perry, to AFP, Saturday.

Perry stated that the request of the hostage’s family was not a call against the government, but to release the hostage in the living condition they had been promoting all this time.

“This is the call anyone would make if it were their father. Consider us and make plans now (for negotiations),” he added.

Relatives of another hostage whose child is still a Hamas prisoner, Ruby Chen, feel they have been played and are worried about their son’s fate.

“We felt like we were in a game of Russian roulette (figuring out) who would be the next person to be notified of the death of a loved one,” Chen said

Chen felt he had been lied to because the Israeli army stated that the ground operation would bring back the kidnapped victims alive.

“It didn’t work. Because since then, the kidnapping victims have been seen returning, but not many are alive. It’s time for this assumption to be changed,” he said.

Hamas took around 250 people hostage after launching a surprise attack in southern Israel.

Israel then responded by launching aggression and declaring war on Hamas. They completely attacked Gaza.

As a result of Israel’s attacks, hundreds of thousands of residents’ homes were destroyed, dozens of hospitals were no longer operational, and the death toll reached nearly 19,000 people.

The international community then called for another ceasefire in Gaza considering the increasingly crisis situation.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire on November 24 and it was extended twice until it ended on November 30.

One of the points of this agreement is the exchange of prisoners.

After the peace agreement ended, Israel attacked Gaza again. Benjamin Netanyahu’s government claims it will not stop fighting until Hamas is destroyed and all the hostages return.

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Israel non-stop pounding Gaza Strip since October 7. The death toll continues to fall and civil infrastructure remains in ruins.

Israel’s ferocity has made a number of netizens think the United Nations (UN) should send international troops to Gaza.

So what are the conditions?

The UN could send international troops to Gaza through Resolution 377A.

“[Resolusi ini] can recommend sending troops. “It’s just a matter of which countries will commit to joining,” said international relations observer from the University of Indonesia, Yon Machmudi CNNIndonesia.comWednesday (13/12).

Resolution 377A or “Unity for Peace” aims to resolve the situation where the UN Security Council has failed to carry out its functions.

This resolution authorizes the General Assembly to convene meetings through the Secretary General and make collective recommendations including the use of armed force if necessary.

To be adopted, the resolution must be approved by at least one member of the UN Security Council or a group of members of the General Assembly.

Yon explained that the new resolution regarding the deployment of international peacekeeping forces, through a special session of the General Assembly, could be used as long as major countries supported it. However, the decision will raise questions about who will be willing to start by sending troops to Gaza.

Arab countries also refused to send international troops to Gaza.

“What made it possible was China and Russia,” said Yon.

Meanwhile, Indonesian international law expert Hikmahanto Juwana said the possibility of deploying UN troops would be difficult to implement.

“UN forces depend on troops from member countries. If no one contributes, it will certainly be difficult,” said Hikmahanto.

He then said, “Usually the US contributes troops, but this time the US is behind Israel.”

Regarding international troops, the US and Israel briefly discussed several options for resolving the Gaza conflict.

Viral ambassador Israel for English Tzipi Hotovely is annoyed at having to answer questions about independence Palestine and a two-state solution.

The following is some news from the last 24 hours summarized in this morning’s International Flash:

The video of the Israeli Ambassador to Britain’s interview with British media Tzipi Hotovely became the focus after the ambassador appeared to be furious when answering questions regarding Palestine and the two-state solution.

The two-state solution is a resolution to the Israeli and Palestinian conflict which has been supported by the international community.

This two state solution projects a resolution to the conflict by ensuring that Palestine and Israel each stand as an independent, sovereign state and live side by side peacefully.

The two-state solution also guarantees that the city of East Jerusalem belongs to Palestine.

Yemeni separatists, the Southern Transitional Council (STC), have even stated that they are ready to defend Israel against the Houthi rebels who support Palestine.

Reporting from the Middle East Monitor, this was conveyed by the STC after the Houthis threatened to block the route of ships heading to Israel from any country, unless Gaza received the necessary food and medicine.

The Houthis are trying to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi insinuated that the United States (US) and Western countries had allowed Israel to commit human rights violations in Gaza, even though all this time RI had often dictated to it.

Retno said this when she was a panelist at a roundtable on human rights, peace and security at the UN Human Rights Council Headquarters, Geneva, Tuesday (12/12).

“The parties who often dictate to us regarding human rights are the ones who are now allowing Israel to violate human rights,” said Retno in an official statement, Tuesday (12/12).

Retno said all countries should not apply double standards in upholding human rights. Because according to him, double standards are the biggest problem in implementing ideal human rights.

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Senior office HamasOsama Hamdan, still doesn’t care about the Prime Minister’s ultimatum Israel Benjamin Netanyahu which will destroy the Palestinian resistance group.

Hamdan stated that he would not release the hostages except on one condition.

“The aim of the Israeli side, through leaks, is to face internal pressure,” Hamdan said in Beirut to Al Jazeera, Wednesday (13/12).

He later said, “Israel’s position regarding this perspective is for internal consumption.”

Hamdan’s remarks came after Israeli media, citing official comments, said Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was open to a humanitarian pause (truce).

On the other hand, the United Nations (UN) succeeded in adopting a resolution regarding Gaza on Tuesday.

The resolution calls for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, insisting that all parties comply with international law, and granting humanitarian access to hostages or prisoners.

Even though the UN succeeded in adopting it, this resolution is not binding and there is no guarantee that Israel will comply.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a cease-fire on November 24 and it was extended twice until November 30.

After the ceasefire ended, Israel launched an all-out attack on Gaza. To date, the total death toll due to attacks by Zionist forces has reached 18,000.

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Voting results of the special session of the United Nations General Assembly (SMU) (PBB) in New York was done to force a truce between the forces Israel and Hamas in Palestine, Tuesday (12/12) afternoon local time.

As a result, 153 countries supported the ceasefire and only 10 countries rejected it. Among the countries that refused, apart from Israel and the United States, was neighboring Indonesia.

Meanwhile, 23 other countries chose to abstain. Among the countries that abstained were England, Argentina, Italy and Ukraine.

Quoted from CNNthe vote came after Egypt used resolution 377A to urge the UN General Assembly to discuss the increasingly worrying situation in Gaza.

Egypt used resolution 377A to “fight” the United States, which vetoed the latest UN Security Council draft resolution regarding the ceasefire in Gaza last week.

Efforts to draft a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution regarding a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza continue to be initiated by various countries to stop the war.

This resolution again failed to reach agreement because of the veto given by the United States.

The resolution proposed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is not only related to a ceasefire, but also demands the unconditional release of all hostages and the opening of humanitarian access, quoted from UN Press.

Despite being blocked by permanent members, the text of the resolution received support from 13 Council members, including three permanent members (China, France and the Russian Federation) and the UK abstained.

The following is a list of 10 countries that have rejected a ceasefire regarding the Israel-Hamas war at the UN, one of which is neighboring Indonesia.

1. Austria
2. Czech
3. Guatemala
4. Israel
5. Liberia
6. Micronesia
7. Nauru
8. Papua New Guinea
9. Paraguay
10. United States

UN General Assembly Passes Resolution for Immediate Ceasefire Between Israel and Hamas in Gaza

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

United Nations General Assembly (PBB) succeeded in passing a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

In an emergency meeting on Tuesday (12/12) afternoon New York time, 153 countries supported the resolution proposed by Egypt. Meanwhile, 10 countries opposed and 23 other countries abstained from voting on the resolution.

SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT

Quoted CNNthe voting on this resolution took place after Egypt used resolution 377A to urge the UN General Assembly to discuss the increasingly dying situation in Gaza.

Egypt used resolution 377A to “fight” the United States, which vetoed the latest UN Security Council draft resolution regarding the ceasefire in Gaza last week.

During the voting, a number of countries, including the United States, proposed amendments to the draft UN General Assembly resolution.

The US is adamant that the resolution should mention condemnation of the Hamas attack on Israel which occurred on October 7.

[Gambas:Twitter]

In its final decision, the agreed resolution calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, insisting that all parties comply with international law, and granting humanitarian access to the hostages and their “immediate and unconditional” release.

The statement contained stronger wording than a previous resolution last October that called for a “sustainable humanitarian ceasefire.”

UN General Assembly resolutions do have political significance and are seen as having high moral weight. However, this resolution is not as binding as resolutions passed by the UN Security Council so it does not guarantee that Israel will comply.

So far, Israel has vowed not to stop its military aggression against Palestine until it completely eradicates Hamas.

Israel’s aggression against Palestine became even more reckless after the first ceasefire ended without extension.

To date, Israel’s aggression against Palestine since October 7 has killed more than 18,200 people and injured more than 50 thousand people. This death toll is double the death toll from the Russian invasion of Ukraine which has been going on since February 2022.
