Iran Missile Strikes: Video Shows Attacks on Key Targets

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 28, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Israel conducted retaliatory strikes against Iran early Saturday, targeting sites within the country in response to Iran’s missile and drone attack on Israel earlier this week, according to reports from Al Jazeera and AP News. The exchange marks a fourth consecutive day of direct military confrontation between the two nations, with no indication of de-escalation.

The Iranian missile barrage on Israel, launched Friday, followed the passing of a deadline set by former U.S. President Donald Trump for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, as reported by AP News. While the connection between the two events remains unconfirmed, the timing has drawn attention to the volatile regional dynamics.

Al Jazeera reported that the initial Iranian attack involved both missiles and drones, directly targeting Israel. Israel responded with strikes against targets in Iran, described as strategic and politically significant locations, though specific details remain limited. The nature and extent of the damage inflicted by either side are currently unconfirmed.

Amidst the escalating conflict, reports surfaced of panic in a shopping mall in Qatar, as documented in a video shared by CNN. The incident, while geographically separate from the direct military exchange, underscores the broader sense of unease and potential for regional instability stemming from the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

As of Saturday, no statements have been issued by either government outlining conditions for a cessation of hostilities. The international community has yet to issue a unified response, and diplomatic efforts to mediate a de-escalation remain ongoing.

Iran-US Tensions: Nuclear Deal Failure & Military Preparations

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor February 22, 2026
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has affirmed that the country will not yield to international pressure regarding ongoing nuclear negotiations, even as concerns mount over escalating regional tensions and a potential military confrontation with the United States. The statement, delivered in a televised address Saturday, comes amid reports that Iran is bolstering its defensive capabilities and fortifying key military and nuclear sites.

“The world powers are aligning to force us to concede… but we will not yield despite all the problems they cause us,” Pezeshkian stated, according to state television. This firm stance reflects a deep-seated skepticism within the Iranian government regarding Washington’s intentions, with some officials believing that negotiations are merely a prelude to military action.

Ali Vaez, an analyst, suggested to EFE that Iran may be miscalculating the situation, believing the U.S. Does not genuinely seek an agreement. “The Islamic Republic is making a miscalculation, believing that the United States does not genuinely seek an agreement, and that the negotiations, just like last year’s, are a tactic to pave the way for war,” Vaez explained. Political analyst Mashallah Shamsolvaezin echoed this sentiment, stating that the U.S. Has established a pattern of initially presenting an optimistic outlook, followed by positive signals, increased demands, and a deadline that, if unmet, leads to military action, as reported by Etemad.

Simultaneously, Iran is actively reinforcing its military infrastructure. CNN reported that repairs are underway at the Imam Ali missile base in Khorramabad, with three of a dozen structures damaged during a previous conflict with Israel in June having been rebuilt, one repaired, and three more under construction. The report, based on satellite imagery, also indicates the rapid reconstruction of Iran’s largest and most modern solid-propellant missile production facility in Shahrud, a technology crucial for the swift deployment of longer-range missiles.

Further bolstering its defenses, Iran is fortifying infrastructure near the Natanz nuclear complex. Satellite images analyzed by the Institute of Science and International Security (ISIS) suggest the facilities are being transformed into a heavily protected bunker, offering significant protection against potential aerial attacks, according to ISIS President David Albright in a post on X.

These defensive preparations follow threats from Supreme Leader Ali Jamenei, who downplayed the deployment of U.S. Aircraft carriers in the region while simultaneously warning that Iran possesses the capability to sink them. “A carrier is certainly a dangerous machine, but more dangerous than the carrier is the weapon that can send it to the bottom of the sea,” Jamenei asserted.

Despite its assertive posture and defensive measures, some analysts caution that Iran may be overestimating its strength. Vaez warned that if drawn into a full-scale war, Iran might overestimate its ability to withstand a U.S. Response, anticipating that Washington would avoid a protracted and costly conflict in the Middle East. A potential conflict would mark the second instance of U.S. Military action against Iran in less than a year, following joint operations with Israel in June that targeted Iranian military and nuclear installations.

Al Jazeera reported that President Pezeshkian warned of regional instability amid U.S. Threats, but offered no specific details on how Iran would respond to further escalation.
