China has solidified its position as the dominant force in synchronized swimming, securing another gold medal.
The Chinese team successfully defended their title, achieving a remarkable score of 307.8001 points. This victory follows their previous gold medal win in Doha last year.
Spain, despite not fielding Dennis González for this particular event-he was part of the bronze medal-winning free routine team on Sunday-managed too narrow the gap with China. The Spanish team reduced the preliminary deficit from over seventeen points to just 12.9426 points.
However, this improvement was not enough to challenge ChinaS lead. The Chinese team’s performance, set to a routine inspired by ‘Wukong,’ was once again lauded for its excellence in both execution and artistic interpretation. The influence of former Spanish national team coach Anna Tarrés is evident in their strong artistic presentation.
Russia will need to acknowledge China’s prowess as they contend for podium positions.
