prince Andrew Reportedly Facing Highland Exile After Title Loss
LONDON – Prince Andrew may be facing a future largely removed from royal life, possibly residing โin a Highland town in Scotland, following his relinquishing of military affiliations adn royalโ patronages, โขaccording to recent reports. Author Nigel Lownie, speaking to The Times,โข suggests a move to the Scottish Highlands could represent a form of exile for the Duke of โYork.
The shift comes after โคAndrew was stripped of hisโ honorary military roles and royal patronages in January 2022,โ following a sexual assault lawsuit filed in the United States. โHe settled the case out ofโ court, but the scandal severely damaged his reputation and led to his removal from public duties.
Lownie claims Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, “have had counselling to deal with the various scandals their โparents have been involved in,”โ andโ that rumors suggest they are having “much less contact with their father โthan they once did.”
According to Lownie, a decision by andrew and his formerโ wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, toโข spend Christmas at Sandringham with the โRoyal Family, ratherโข than with their daughters, “will show that Andrew and Fergie have been disowned byโฃ the only two people theyโ could once rely on for unconditional support.”
The Duke and Duchess of โคYork currently reside at Royal Lodge in โwindsor Great Park. A move toโ the Scottish Highlands would mark a โขsignificant geographical and symbolic distanceโ from theโ center of royal life.
