InstaPay transfer Limits & Fee Updates for Egyptian Users
Cairo, November 17, 2025 – Egyptian users of the InstaPay application should be aware of transfer limits and recently implemented fees, following updates effective April 1, 2025. While InstaPay remains a key tool for financial transactions – including balance inquiries, bill payments, and money transfers – new charges and transaction structuring may impact larger transfers.
InstaPay operates on a fee structure of 0.1% of the transaction value, with a minimum charge of 50 piasters and a maximum of 20 Egyptian pounds per transaction. The network introduced these fees after providing free transfer and inquiry services for three years since its launch in April 2022. Users retain 10 free balance or short account statement inquiries monthly; subsequent inquiries incur a 50 piasters fee.
For transfers exceeding certain amounts, users may need to split transactions. For example, a 100,000 pound transfer requires two transactions – 70,000 pounds (maximum fee 20 pounds) and 30,000 pounds (fee of 20 pounds), resulting in total fees of 40 pounds.
The service is accessible via mobile phone lines registered with participating banks. Fees are deducted from the sender, not the recipient.
customers experiencing issues, including mistaken transfers, are advised to first contact customer service through their bank and report the transaction reference number via the InstaPay application on mobile number 15989. If funds are not recovered, a formal complaint can be filed with the Central Bank of Egypt, and an official report submitted to investigation authorities.
