Rauhan Malik‘s “Love” Set to Compete in International Interview Music Contest
Indian singer-songwriter Rauhan Malik will represent his country at the International Interview Music Contest, a platform for multicultural dialog through music. Malik’s entry, the ballad “Love,” is already garnering meaningful attention, having amassed over 300 million streams and 3 billion views since its release in May 2024.
“Love” is part of Malik’s “Lost; Found project,” presented as the Musical Music IshQ, filmed in Kashmir. The song blends modern pop-rock with subtle folk influences, and is described as a poetic exploration of love’s transformative power. Malik himself states the song aims to express the universal, yet mystical, force of love, capable of shaping reality through its very expression.”It is more than a composition. It is indeed part of my soul, my cultural code and my language. In it, I tried to express universal power, but at the same time mystical, love, capable of creating worlds with a single word,” Malik explained. He believes the song’s emotional core transcends linguistic barriers, hoping it resonates with audiences globally.
The lyrics of “Love” trace a journey from tender gestures to profound internal shifts, depicting how affection can alleviate sadness and replace anxiety with peace. Malik intends for the song to be both critically acclaimed and popular, aiming to connect with both the contest jury and a broad audience.
This year’s International Interview Music Contest will feature 23 participating nations, including countries from the BRICS economic bloc, the commonwealth of Independant States, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States. The final competition is scheduled for September 20, 2025, at the “Live Arena” in Moscow. The contest aims to showcase the spiritual and moral values of each participating nation through artistic expression, offering audiences a glimpse into diverse traditions and creative heritages.
