A former Dairy Queen location in Clarksville, Indiana, will soon house the first southern Indiana Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers restaurant, according to Louisville Business First.
The restaurant will be located on Veterans Parkway. While this marks the first Freddy’s in southern Indiana, the chain already operates restaurants in Seymour and Bloomington, Indiana, as well as multiple locations in Kentucky, including one on Shelbyville Road in Louisville and another currently under construction on Dixie Highway.
Construction on the Clarksville location is anticipated to begin within the next few months, with an opening planned for this summer. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers and frozen custard.
The expansion into Clarksville comes as the company navigates broader financial challenges. Recent filings indicate that Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, through M&M Custard LLC and 31 affiliates, filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas on November 14, 2025. The extent to which these filings will impact the Clarksville location remains unclear.
