Houston dash Forward Clarissa Larisey Joins Elite Company with International Success
Houston Dash has bolstered its attacking force with the signing of Canadian international Clarissa Larisey from crystal Palace FC. The 26-year-old forward, who joins Houston through the 2027 NWSL season, brings a wealth of European experience, having scored 27 goals in 68 appearances, secured three trophies, and competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League across three campaigns during her four years abroad.
Larisey’s arrival comes as several Dash players showcased their talents on the international stage during the recent FIFA window. Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala, a teammate of Dash defender Allysha Baldwin on the Nigerian National Team, was instrumental in their victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Oshoala appeared in four of Nigeria’s six matches, contributing her 38th international goal in a decisive 3-0 win against Ghana on July 6. Nigeria ultimately triumphed in the final against Morocco, securing their tenth continental title with a 2-1-0 (W-D-L) record in Group B.
Simultaneously occurring, Bay FC midfielder Bรกrbara Olivieri represented Venezuela in the 2025 CONMEBOL Copa Amรฉrica Femenina. Olivieri participated in three of Venezuela’s four group-stage matches as the team finished fourth in Group B with a 1-2-1 record.
Bay FC also saw significant international contributions from their roster. racheal Kundananji played a pivotal role for Zambia, starting all four of their matches in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where she recorded three goals and one assist, helping her team reach the quarterfinals. Princess Marfo was a key player for Ghana, appearing in five of their six tournament matches and contributing to their third-place finish after a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout victory over South Africa. Additionally, Emmie Allen and Taylor Huff participated in the U.S. U-23 Women’s national Team camp during the international break.
In other roster moves,Bay FC strengthened their squad by signing goalkeeper Leah Freeman,who inked her first professional contract after a distinguished collegiate career at the University of Oregon and Duke. The club also acquired forward Onyeka gamero from Spanish side FC Barcelona for an undisclosed transfer fee,following her two seasons in Spain.The Houston Dash and Bay FC recently drew 2-2 at Shell Energy Stadium on May 24, with Patterson scoring her second goal for the Dash and forward Messiah Bright opening her scoring account for the season. Olivieri provided assists for both of Houston’s goals. The Dash currently hold a 1-1-1 record against Bay FC, having scored seven goals in their last three encounters. Houston is aiming to secure crucial points as they currently trail the playoff line by seven points.
