Montana, a four-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Super Bowl MVP, was asked to assume the role of a general manager and select quarterbacks to build a franchise. He initially chose Josh Allen and joe Burrow before ultimately selecting herbert as his final pick,signaling a strong belief in the Chargers quarterback’s potential. This endorsement is particularly notable as it comes from a legend widely considered one of the greatest to ever play the position.
“I like the guy with the Chargers,” Montana stated. “Justin Herbert, I think they’ve kind of gone by the wayside… but I like the way [he plays].” Montana’s comments arrive as Herbert enters a pivotal season with the Chargers, now under the leadership of head coach Jim Harbaugh.
