Jakarta – Sarwendah is orchestrating a deeply personal and meaningful farewell for her late father, Hendrik Lo, culminating in a unique sea burial ceremony. the former singer plans to scatter her father’s ashes at sea from a ship, a gesture inspired by cherished memories with her mother.
The decision to hold the ash scattering ceremony aboard a vessel stems from a poignant experience. “Mami,I had a birthday on the ship,Yeye had never been,” Sarwendah shared,explaining her desire to offer her father a similar,albeit final,experience. She has already commissioned a ship specifically for this purpose, ensuring a dignified and memorable send-off.
Prior to the cremation, Sarwendah also organized a “flower night,” a traditional event designed to celebrate her father’s life and legacy. This gathering will feature friends and family, including her father’s associates, who will come together to share memories and music. “Yeye’s friends wont to sing, he said, if the flower night is like celebrating the term,” Sarwendah elaborated.
Hendrik Lo passed away at the age of 65 after a period of hospitalization due to complications.
