Anรญbal Pachano Faces Cancer Again, Finds Hope in Grandchild’s Arrival
Renowned choreographer Anรญbal Pachano, a familiar face to Chilean audiences from his stint on Channel 13’s “Aquรญ se baila,” is once again battling cancer. Despite the challenging circumstances, the theater director revealed a profound sense of optimism, fueled by the imminent arrival of his first grandchild.
In a candid conversation with Ale Rubio on Radio rivadavia, Pachano shared his current health status, admitting to a recent surgery and ongoing recovery. “I am traveling again for cancer. A new part of the disease,” he stated, acknowledging the worry that accompanies such a diagnosis. “As much as I am a resilient person, that did not stop me from being worried, alert, and attentive again to what happens to me in my body.”
Pachano detailed the progression of his illness, explaining that it’s not a new cancer but rather the same disease spreading to different areas. “It shot a lung first, then the second lung, it shot the brain, and the brain shot the adrenal,” he explained. The most recent activation occurred in the lung, leading to the adrenal gland, with surgery taking place on June 30th.The choreographer confessed to a period of neglecting his health, delaying necessary medical check-ups. “I disregarded a study that I had to do last year and I didn’t,” he admitted. “That would have warned me a year ago that there was a possible problem.” Fortunately, the tumor removed during his recent operation was encapsulated, a factor Pachano considers a significant advantage. The results of the biopsy are currently pending.
while acknowledging the initial shock of a cancer diagnosis, Pachano emphasized the importance of moving forward. “Obviously, the first blow grabs you, but once the impact passes, you have to push forward, there is no other,” he asserted.the impending arrival of his grandchild has provided a powerful source of joy and motivation. “I am happy, I will be a grandfather, and we can tell it,” he announced, his voice filled with emotion. “We are rehired with Ana that we are going to be grandparents.” This joyous news, he shared, has helped him to look at the glass half full, even amidst his health struggles. “Now we are in recovery and willing to enjoy my grandson,” Pachano concluded, embracing the hope and anticipation of this new chapter.
