Published: November 2,2023
Henny Huisman, the former presenter of the popular Dutch talent show โ Soundmixshow, has stated that Marco Borsato’s career is “in ruins” following allegations of indecent assault. Huisman made the comments while โคdiscussing the case and the show’s legacy.
According to reporting, Huismanโ initially championed Borsato, whoโฃ won Soundmixshow in 1990. He stated, “I have been showing off Marco โfor a long time, he comes from me,” but โadded, “But that whent wrong all at once.”
Huisman โexpressed his view on the potential outcome of the legal proceedings, stating, “In any case, I think he has already been punishedโข enormously. His career is in ruins.”
The discussion also touched โฃupon the case of Glennis Grace, another artist โwho gained prominence through Soundmixshow. Grace was sentenced toโค 200 hours of community service in 2022 for public violence following an โincident in an Amsterdam supermarket.
“Sometimes people โsay to me: can’tโ you talk to them, as if I โcan keep โthem on the right path? But I am โขnot Marco Borsato’s father.”

Huisman firmly dismissed any suggestion that he has a responsibility to intervene in โคthe personal lives of the artists he helped launch, emphasizing hisโ lack of paternal role.
Soundmixshow, hosted by Huisman from 1985 to 2002, served as a launching pad for numerous successful Dutch musicians, including โขGerard Joling, Edsilia โคRombley, Helmut Lotti, and Tino Martin, in additionโ to Borsato and Grace.
