Recent data from the National Basketball Association indicates a rise in the number of players seeking legal protection from harassment, with a 15% increase in cases since last year (NBA 2024).
Prior Restraining Order and Past Incidents
Brooks claims the troubling actions of his ex-partner are not new. In fact, a previous restraining order was already in effect from November 2024 through June of this year. Their relationship began in Las Vegas in 2018.
He states that he learned of the pregnancy via an ultrasound posted online by Andrews. Since then, Brooks claims he has faced persistent harassment, with instances of receiving hundreds of messages in a single day. The athlete also reported threats targeting his family.
Among the concerning messages, one stated, โI’m going to send someone to look for your mother.โ The basketball player, who has played eight seasons in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets, wants the authorities to extend the current protective order. This is in the hopes of safeguarding himself and his children.
