Hockey players from Pardubice became the first quarter-finalists of the Champions League. A 2:2 draw against Finland’s Tampere was enough for them in the second round of 16 match. Slovak legionnaires Martin Bučko, Matej Paulovič and Peter Čerešňák, who scored an assist, also enjoyed the success of the Czech team.

The Czechs will have two representatives in the quarter-finals, Vítkovice secured their progress after a 1:1 home draw. On the contrary, the Třinac players lost 2:5 on the Skelleftey ice and ended the competition. Richard Pánik’s contact goal did not help the guests to make it 2:3. The reigning Swedish champion Växjö, which drew 3:3 with the German Ingolstadt, is next.

Třinec beat Swedish Skelleftea

In Werk Arena in Třinec, Jakub Jeřábek opened the scoring after only 101 seconds of the game. The home guard got to the puck after winning the throw-in and surprised Lindvall with a throw from the left guard. The Steelers took the lead in the fourteenth minute on a power play. Daňo could have finished from the circle, but he passed to the left to Růžiček, who hit the open goal from an angle.

The Swedes stepped up their activity, but at the beginning of the middle third they could concede a third time. Hudáček caught the pass in his own zone, but failed to escape with a backhand loop. On the counterattack, the guests reduced, Lindström beat Kacetl with a shot from the ring. Hugg had the equalizer twice on his stick, but he missed the chance, so Kurovský punished Kurovský from the penalty spot.

In 81 seconds, Forsfjäll scored a contact goal. Třinec complained about the situation, he also took the coach’s challenge due to an alleged foul by Dzierkals on the goalkeeper, but he pushed the Latvian player Kundrátek on Kacetl, which is why the goal was valid. The Steelers immediately survived Roman’s expulsion, Sikura equalized in another foul for too many players on the ice, and the home team saved the post after Lindholm’s shot.

However, with the advantage of one goal, Třinečtí will go to the rematch in the end, after Hudáček knocked Nestrasil’s shot into the empty goal. The visitors also failed with the coaching challenge due to offside.

The Impact of Penalties on Třinec’s Performance in Sparta and Liberec Ice Hockey Matches

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com November 1, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

On Sparta’s ice, the reigning champions went to the penalty bench eight times and lost 2:3 in overtime. Under Ještěd, they “only” pecked six times. “After the match in Sparta, we had meetings and talked about not being expelled and not talking to the referees. But now it was bad from us again and I hope it was the last game we had so many sent offs. We cannot play more matches like this in a row, otherwise the opponents will take advantage of it,” Libor Hudáček, the author of Třinecké’s first goal, knew very well.

However, Liberec was unable to take advantage of their opponent’s offenses even once. But for me, our indiscipline is disappointing,” admitted Třinec coach Zdeněk Moták, whose team “led” in fouls after the second period 6:0.

“The team plays excellently in the five-on-five game. It was all there, we were really pressing but our dismissals were letting us down. You’re playing well, the fade comes and you go down. Then only some get on the ice, that’s an old hockey truth. We have to improve in this and we have to avoid penalties,” Moták appealed to his charges. He was only pleased that it wasn’t a case of unsportsmanlike conduct.

Třinec coach Zdeněk Moták.

“We talk about it with the players all the time, we constantly appeal for discipline, both in-game and that which manifests itself in eventual expulsion. And neither here nor at Sparta were the fouls resulting from the opponent outplaying us, they were simply stupid,” he was annoyed.

Especially in the second period, his team had one less player for almost eight minutes. “We were better in the five-on-five game, but we played an awful lot when we were weakened, where I can only praise my teammates, who defended it well there. They jumped into the shots and Mazi (Mazanec) caught it all. Hats off to them,” Libor Hudáček praised his teammates, who once faced a double advantage of almost half a minute.

“We knew that Liberec had weak numbers in the power play, but in the last matches the game in overnumbering was already going well for them, so the guys watched them on video several times and knew very well how they would play,” remarked Hudáček. Třinec returned from a trip to the ice of Sparta and Liberec with four points. “We can be uneaten, but we must not clap,” concluded Moták.

The Bike Hit and Incredible Turns in Pardubice: Dynamo Pardubice vs. HC Sparta Prague 4:3

The bike hit took incredible turns in Pardubice right from the opening bull. After only 61 seconds, the home team took advantage of the power play, but Buchtele immediately equalized in his own weakness. Sparta’s joy at equalizing lasted only 56 seconds. With his second hit, Říčka once again took the lead to Dynamo’s side. However, immediately after the ball, Chlapík got a chance and beat Will for the second time. Ciencala’s goal from the fifth minute concluded the incredible start, after which Pražanu goalkeeper Kovář headed for the substitute.

In the second period, the scorers took a break, but the start of the last part offered two goals in a span of 74 seconds, one on each side. Kautova’s one from the 45th minute turned out to be the winner. In front of more than ten thousand spectators, Dynamo returned the defeat from the third round to Prague (3:4 after raids) and continues to rule the extra league table. Sparta remains third

Kometa had an excellent start in the north of Bohemia and took the lead in the fifth minute. However, the home team Verva turned the score around even before the opening siren and bounced back to a three goal difference with two more hits in the second act. The third period brought a quick reduction and then a contact shot by the Comets. Brno’s hopes of a point gain, however, were dashed by Hlava in the 52nd minute. Litvínov won 6:3 and succeeded at home in the tenth game of the season. Comet came out empty-handed for the first time after a series of four matches.

After a goalless first half, 19-year-old Jakub Šiler put Pilsen in the lead with his first extra-league goal. However, the West Bohemians did not enjoy the lead for long, and even before the second break, Motor turned the score around. In the 44th minute, the South Bohemians added insurance and sealed the victory with a shot into an empty goal. With a 4:1 win, Motor ended their eight-game wait for full points and is in seventh place in the table. Pilsen is tenth.

The fans in Liberec did not get their first shot until the 32nd minute, when Bulíř sent the White Tigers into the lead. A minute later, Home Credit Arena cheered for the second time. However, Birner’s goal was disallowed after consultation with the video referee, and instead of a two-goal deficit, the Steelers managed to equalize just 19 seconds later. In the third part, Voženílek and Pánik completed the Třinec turn. The champion currently holds the longest extra league streak, having scored for the eighth time in a row.

The last duel between Mladá Boleslav and Hradec Králové was not played due to a big breakdown of the Skating Club. Both rivals are looking for an alternative date.

Exciting Results and Match Previews in Czech Hockey League – Karlovarská Energie, Steelers vs. Sparta, Kladno and Pardubice, Mladá Boleslav and Vítkovice, Hradec Králové and Liberec

Karlovarská Energie demonstrated a rocket entry into the new season, when they easily won on the ice of last year’s semi-finalists from Vítkovice 6:2. The West Bohemians shone especially in the first period, in which they scored four straight goals. Vary will also want to follow up on their good performance in Ostrava at home, where they will welcome the last Kometa Brno from 15:30. The Moravians were not enough in the opening round against Hradec Králové, with whom they fell 0:4.

Sunday’s extra-league day will be closed by a battle between traditional rivals. At 5:45 p.m., the match between the home Steelers and Sparta will take place in the Werk Arena in Třinec. In the first round, the people of Prague shone with a comfortable 5:2 victory against České Budějovice. The defending champions, on the other hand, were not enough against Plzeň, with whom they lost 1:3, and will therefore want to make a good impression in front of their own audience.

Kladno and Pardubice, Mladá Boleslav and Vítkovice and Hradec Králové and Liberec will also play from 16:00. At 17:00 České Budějovice will play against Olomouc and at 17:30 Litvínov will challenge Plzeň.

Achievements and Future Plans of Slovak Ice Hockey Player, Adam Cedzo

Achievements and Future Plans of Slovak Ice Hockey Player, Adam Cedzo

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com July 30, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

At the successful Under-18 World Championships, he created an elite attack with Dalibor Dvorský and Juraj Pekarčík. While the two met after the NHL draft in the St. Louis, Adam Cedz was not selected by the Blues, nor was anyone else. However, the 18-year-old striker does not make a big deal out of it. He is focusing on the next year in the Třinac organization, where he should work mainly among men.

He also won the youth championship. After Dvorský and Pekarčík, he was the third most productive Slovak with eight points, complementing them well in the first attack. Already in the opening match, he presented himself with two goals against the Czech Republic (3:2 sn), he also had two points in the demanding quarter-final against Finland. The young Slovaks made it all the way to the semi-finals in Switzerland, but in the end they left without a medal. In the match for 3rd place, they lost to Canada 3:4 pp.

I believe that senior hockey will give me more

“It was an incredible experience. We made a great team, the kind of team we were together… it was really unreal. That’s why we made it this far anyway. It’s a shame that we didn’t win a medal, but it’s over.” assessed Adam Cedzo in an interview for our daily.

Highlighting the game is one of the common hockey clichés, but the selection, mostly of the year 2005, showed great cohesion and mental strength. Either with victories against unpopular opponents from the Czech Republic and Finland, turning a key match with Germany from 2:4 to 6:4, or even matches with Canada and Sweden. “Of course, it’s always about that. This is most evident when you play against strong teams. It’s a very important piece of the puzzle of success.” Cedzo recognized the quality of the party.

AFTER THE WC HE WAS COMPLETELY RELAXED

The native of Pezinok was on the wing of Dalibor Dvorský in the elite attack from the beginning of the tournament. Juraj Pekarčík joined them in the quarter-finals and it was this trio that contributed the most to Slovakia’s success, with the exception of goalkeeper Samuel Urban. Cedzo praises the cooperation in the first formation. “It was great. I think we did well in all of our roles that we had in that offense. It worked for us,” he expressed himself.

While Dvorský (10th place) and Pekarčík (76th) were selected by the same team in the June NHL draft, after Cedz St. Louis Blues did not reach. No other team drafted him either. “It was a shame, but it was no longer in my hands. I watched it calmly. I took it more with a distance, after the championship I completely relaxed that it was no longer in my hands. It was up to the individual teams,” commented the striker, who spent the last three seasons in the Czech Republic.

HE SHOULD START IN THE FIRST LEAGUE

The 18-year-old winger worked in the youth teams of Třinac, he also tried out the First League for Frýdek-Místek. He played five duels with an average ice time of 15:50 min. “I was very happy with the space I got among the men, I didn’t expect that much,” acknowledged Cedzo, who should add even more duels in the second highest competition next year. “I will continue in the Třinec organization. It all depends on me. I should start in the first league, but it will all be up to me how I deal with it.”

A debut in the A-team of Třinac is also not ruled out. “In theory, yes. It is perhaps too high a goal, but the theoretical vision is there,” smiled the native of Pezin, who praises his work in the most successful Czech organization in recent seasons. “It’s great for me. The organization is excellent, as are the conditions for training. I am very satisfied.”

Adam Cedzo also thought about the overseas junior, where many of his peers are heading. In the end, however, he decided to stay in the Czech Republic. “I was also attracted to the junior girl, we definitely thought about it. But we weighed the pros and cons and decided to stay where I was last season. I believe that senior hockey will give me a little more than junior hockey. Of course, it will always be seen after some time whether it was a good move. Now we don’t know yet. I believe it was the right decision,” concluded Adam Cedzo.
