“Successful Blood Drive Held in Espaly Saint-Marcel to Meet Critical Needs”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com April 27, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

This Wednesday, April 26 took place for the first time in Espaly Saint-Marcel a blood drive in the premises of the MJC Auguste-Dumas.

Throughout the morning, the donors followed one another to accomplish this beautiful gesture that is the donation of blood, imbued with generosity and solidarity towards the sick and the injured. These donations meet daily needs as blood supplies continue to decline.

The samples were managed by a team from the French Blood Establishment (EFS) in Saint-Etienne, made up of two doctors, four nurses, a secretary and a transport and snack manager. A total of 43 bags were collected.

This morning was organized by the CCAS of the commune in partnership with the vocational school Auguste-Aymard. Pierre Bonefoy, director, and Mrs. Concil, school nurse, accompanied their students and apprentices who had volunteered. For the vast majority, it was a first. Pupils who are still minors have already signed up for next year when they come of age.

Appointment is given for next year.

“New Outpatient Surgical Unit at Emile-Roux Hospital Center in Puy-en-Velay to Improve Rural Access to Care”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com April 24, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Emile-Roux hospital center in Puy-en-Velay will have a new outpatient surgical unit. The first patients are expected for the second quarter of 2026.

A recent study indicates that life expectancy is lower in rural areas than in urban areas. This difference is explained by the difference in access to care, which is more limited in the countryside than in the cities.

Over the past ten years, attendance at the surgery department has increased by 30%. In 2022, of the 11,300 visits to surgery, 7,000 concerned outpatients. They return to the hospital in the morning, undergo surgery and return home the same evening. But today, the service is cramped and this new unit should also reduce the waiting time, considered “indecent” in some cases.

4 new operating rooms, 6 wake-up stations

This extension project and construction of a new unit will take place to the right of the entrance. It aims to create 4 operating rooms, which will bring the number of operating rooms to 11 (7 conventional rooms and 4 ambulatory rooms). Around these rooms, a post-intervention monitoring room with a capacity of 6 beds will be dedicated to the ambulatory sector.

“Patients will have a dedicated circuit and will be welcomed in an area comprising 15 individual boxes and 19 armchairs”, indicates director Jean-Marie Bolliet.

60% of business comes from surgery

“60% of the hospital’s activity is carried out by surgery”, recalls Marc Bouiller, president of the Establishment Medical Commission (CME). Dr. Marc Durand adds: “Today, we can do major outpatient surgery. It is surgery of excellence that we have in Le Puy. With outpatient surgery, surgery does not change. What changes, it is is what happens before and after the operation.”

A project of nearly 10 million euros

This new unit project amounts to 9.5 million euros. The Region will mobilize 2 million euros directly and 2 million euros via the European funds it manages. The aid granted by the Regional Health Agency, which has confirmed its support, has not yet been established. “Our goal is to have modern equipment to attract caregivers,” said Laurent Wauquiez, chairman of the supervisory board of the public ponot hospital.

Work could begin at the end of 2023 for delivery in the second quarter of 2026.

Fires have been increasing for a week in Haute-Loire

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 30, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

For a week, fires have been increasing in Haute-Loire. The weekend was hectic and it continues this Monday morning.

Major fires in homes and agricultural buildings have marked the activity of firefighters for a week. This weekend, an agricultural tunnel burned down, trapping 120 goats in Saint-Pierre-Eynac. This adds to an already full list: a house destroyed in Rosières, another in Saint-Germain-Laprade, a fire barely contained in Queyrières.

Sunday morning at Cheerful, tenants of a building came out while waiting for help to arrive around 6 a.m. In rue Notre-Dame de l’Oratoire, a wood-oil boiler fire mobilized 25 firefighters. A malfunction in the boiler led to backflow of fumes into the building.

A Ceaux-d’Allegre, Sunday evening, a farmer had time to get his tractor out of an agricultural building before it was totally ablaze, at a place called “Maméas Haut”. The fire started at the bottom of the 300 m2 barn which contained fodder and a tank of fuel oil.

This Monday, at 3:45 a.m., a fire broke out in rue Nationale in Saint-Didier-en-Velay. The occupant was alerted by a burning smell. The fire had started at the level of the roof, near the pipe of the pellet stove. With his sons, he tried to control the progression of the fire which destroyed 10 m2 of roofing. The large scale intervened as well as the thermal camera to check for hot spots. The damaged part was covered.

And this Monday, it’s a garage fire that mobilizes the firefighters in Brioude, alley of the Tuileries, since 10 hours. The 14 firefighters were able to preserve the residential part. Three relocations had to be taken care of by the town hall.
