Harris Accuses Buisness Leaders of ‘Fecklessness’ in Face of Trump‘s ‘Tyranny‘
WASHINGTON,D.C. -โค September 23, 2025 โฃ – Former Vice President Kamala Harris sharply criticized prominent business leaders for remaining silent inโฃ the face of โคwhat she termed โคDonald Trump’s “tyranny,” accusing them of prioritizingโ personal gain over โthe โdefense โคof democratic โคinstitutions.
In a recent โinterview, Harris described the โขsilence asโ “feckless,” adding, “It’s not like they’re going to โlose their yacht or โtheir house in the Hamptons.” She warned that “Democracy sustains capitalism,” and asserted the U.S. is currentlyโฃ confronting a situation comparable toโฃ “communist dictators.”
“that’s whatโค we’re dealing with right now in Donald Trump, and these titans of industry are not speaking up,” โฃHarris stated. She suggested their silence may stem from fear of retribution, citingโฃ potential threats and the use ofโ the federal โขgovernment to target critics. Harris also posited that business leaders might be seeking favorable outcomes, such โas merger approvals โขor โavoiding federal investigations. โค”At some point, they’ve got to stand up for the sake of the people who rely on all of these institutions,” โขshe urged.
The former Vice President also addressed remarks made inโ her new book, โค”107 Days,”โ regarding President Biden’s decision to seek โคa second term, acknowledging a “obligation” โshe felt she should have followed through on by questioning his โค”recklessness”โฃ in running โขagain. Sheโข clarified โขthat she believed raisingโ concerns at the โtime wouldโ have appearedโฃ “wholly self-serving.”
Harris also highlighted public resistance to Trump’s actions, citingโ the recent controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and โขits scheduled return โ to โฃair after being โฃtemporarilyโ suspended following a monologue critical ofโ the GOP and President Trump after the murder of conservativeโ activist Charlie Kirk. She emphasized โthe “power of the people” demonstrated through โpublic support for Kimmel’s show, whichโ she saeid “moved โa decision in the right direction.”
