Hanoi Reconnaissance battalion Prioritizes Enhanced Swimming Proficiency for โฃSoldiers
the 2nd Special reconnaissance Company ofโ the Hanoi Capital Command’s Reconnaissance Battalion has made significant strides inโฃ improving the physicalโค fitnessโค of its soldiers, with a particular focusโ on swimming capabilities. Recognizing an initial gap in proficiency – many โsoldiers could swim, but primarily in short distances or using only freestyle -โ the unit โขimplemented a targetedโค training โprogram to ensureโข readiness for reconnaissance and combat missions.
Lieutenant Nguyen Trongโ Tan, head of โthe 4th Squad, emphasized the โimportance of โthisโ initiative, stating thatโข the squad โขdiligently followedโ the battalion’s plan โขtoโค establish a robustโฃ physical training unit. The program prioritized both theoretical understanding and practical application, beginningโฃ with land-based instruction before moving to in-water training. Officers provided consistent support and feedback, with post-session evaluations used to identify and address individual challenges.
Theseโค focusedโ efforts have yielded impressive results. Currently, โข100% of soldiers in the squad can now โขproficiently swim breaststroke and are capable of sustainingโค long-distance swims. Many have achieved “very good” or “excellent”โ results in โtesting, demonstratingโค a physical fitness โฃlevel that meets the demands โof their training, duties, and assigned tasks.
This success is part of aโค larger initiative driven by theโ Hanoi Capitalโค Command’s plan to establish “exemplary” and high-quality physical training units by 2025. โThe battalion developed a โscientificโ plan to achieve this goal โฃand is actively implementing it.
Commander Lam Xuan Dat, deputy commander of the reconnaissance battalion, highlighted key lessons learned. Heโค stressed theโ importance of scientifically-grounded physical โขtraining plans tailored to the unit’s needs and โadhering to established regulations. He also advocated for โขclassifying training โขobjectives to preventโข overexertion and avoid superficiality. Furthermore, he emphasized โlinking โขphysical training to motivating activities like competitions, festivals, and sports โtournaments to encourage consistent participation.
Theโค improved physical conditioning, notably in swimming, โhasโ demonstrably contributedโ to the battalion’s success in training exercises and mission execution. Recent โ2025 โtraining test results show 100% of personnel meeting requiredโ standards, with over 85% achieving “good” or โ”excellent” โคratings.
