Nuuk, Greenland – Aโฃ small plane crashed in the mountains โofโค Greenlandโฃ on Monday, October 27th, withโ no โคsurvivors, โขauthorities confirmed. โThe aircraft, a Cessna T182, went missing from radar on Saturday, โOctober 25th, while โflying over Sermitsiaq Island, northโ of Nuuk, Greenland’s capital.
The planeโข originated from Newfoundland and โคLabrador, a province in eastern Canada, and was registered to โฃa United โฃStates-basedโข company,โ according to Naviair, Denmark’s air navigation service provider. Search efforts were hampered โขby dense fog that โblanketed โthe regionโ over the weekend, delaying โคtheโข revelation of the wreckage.
“This morningโ the crash site was located, and โunluckily, there were โฃno โคsurvivors,” Naviair stated. The wreckage was found on โคMount Sermitsiaq,an area described by greenland Police โฃas “inaccessible,” complicating recovery and inquiryโ efforts.
Brian Thomsenโฃ of the โGreenland Police explained, “The plane was foundโค on mountโ Sermitsiaq, but in an area that โis currently inaccessible, making it โdifficult for โขauthoritiesโข to take further action.”
authorities have not yet โreleased the identity of the single โoccupant of theโ aircraft. The โขcause of the crash remains under investigation.
