Komeng first described the discussion process with his colleagues, fellow members of the DPD RI for the West Java constituency, until he finally complained about his position in Committee II of the DPD RI.

“This is my constituency in West Java, there are many mothers, Leader. So you know for yourself that mothers’ mouths are the most powerful in the world,” said Komeng.

Komeng said he loved being on the committee in charge of arts and culture, DPD RI Committee III. At the same time, he admitted that he did not understand the agricultural sector in Committee II DPD RI.

“Well, I wanted to be in the arts and culture committee, but I was elected and I joined Committee II, which I didn’t understand, it was about agriculture. Well, the Chairman said earlier that you need to learn quickly. The Chairman can guide me, where should I study? “Well, thank you, Chairman,” said Komeng.

Responding to Komeng, the Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan B Najamudin said that the distribution of committee assignments was given to the senators of each constituency according to the agreement. He said the senators’ assignments to committees had been confirmed.

“Yes, for a moment, I think this is true, meaning this is an honest confession from Senator Komeng. Friends, like this, there are elders of Aanya and others in West Java, there is Mbak Jihan Fahira. Actually, the process came out from below, four of my friends consulted “General Komeng should have said that this is my field, arts and culture. Well, he has already gone to the presidency and we are demolishing,” said Sultan.

The Sultan also opened opportunities for senators in the West Java constituency if they still wanted to change the distribution of assignments according to Komeng’s complaint. On the other hand, he also advised Komeng to follow the current assignment decision within his first year in office.

On the other hand, another DPD member from the West Java Constituency, Aanya Rina Casmayanti, expressed surprise at Komeng’s comment. Because Komeng’s decision to be in the position of Committee II is said to be.

“I don’t know why when the decision appeal form was submitted to the plenary session, Senator Komeng canceled the decision he had already made,” Aanya said in a press release written, Saturday (12/10/2024).

DPD Committee II’s area of ​​responsibility includes agriculture, plantations, transport, marine affairs, fisheries, energy, forestry, community economy, BUMN, industry, food security, and meteorology-climatology-geophysics.

Komeng’s comment surprised Aanya because, before the DPD leadership read the assignment on Wednesday (9/10), there had been agreement with senators from all provinces, including West Java where Komeng came from , Aanya and the others. .

The agreement was announced in a letter of application signed by all DPD members from the relevant constituency. This is regulated in Article 43 paragraph (2) of the DPD Regulation RI Number 2 of 2024 regarding Procedural Rules, which states that membership in each DPD tool is determined by the individual regional member organizations .

“The decision of members in the DPD mechanism is based on an agreement in each regional constituency, which is submitted through a letter of application form and signed by members from the West Java Region,” said Aanya.
