Walmart Stabbing Update: One Victim Released, Others Improving
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. – A notable progress has emerged in the aftermath of the recent mass stabbing at the Traverse City Walmart. One of the 11 victims has been discharged from the hospital, according to Munson Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tom Schermerhorn.
Dr. schermerhorn provided this update during a press conference held Sunday afternoon, alongside Grand Traverse County officials. The incident, which occurred at the local Walmart, involved a man identified as Bradford Gille, 42, of Afton, Michigan.
Sheriff Mike Shea stated at the press conference that gille has a documented history of assaultive behavior and controlled substance violations. The weapon used in the alleged attack was described as a 3.5-inch folding knife.
In response to the community’s needs, free counseling services are being offered to those affected by the traumatic event. These services are available at Northwestern Michigan College’s Innovation Center, located adjacent to the Cedar parking lot on campus.
