Payson, AZ – A 20-year-old Phoenix woman died Saturday after being โshot inside โan โขSUV on โคtheโ Beelineโ Highway near Payson, Arizona. gila County authoritiesโฃ have arrested 22-year-old Donald Nashโ of Phoenixโฃ in โขconnection with the shooting.
The โincident occurred whileโข Nashโข and Keonna Honanie were travelingโ along the highway when an argument escalated,โค resulting in Nashโ allegedly โขshooting Honanie in the head. Theโค shooting prompted a โlengthy closure ofโ the Beeline Highwayโ as investigators processed the scene. โThis case highlights the ongoingโ issue of gun โviolence and its impact on communities, and raises questions about โขdomestic disputes turning fatal.
According to theโ Gila County Sheriff’s โคOffice, deputies responded to a report of a shooting near a Denny’sโ resturant โand discovered Honanie with a gunshot wound.โ She was transported โto โฃa hospital where she was pronounced dead. Nash was detained at the scene, and three other individuals,โค including a 1-year-old child seated next to โขHonanie, were also โpresent in the vehicle.
Nash has been booked into jail on charges โof second-degree murder,endangerment,and resisting arrest. The relationship between Nash and Honanie has notโ been disclosed by authorities.
