ATLANTA, Ga. – The Georgia Tech yellow Jackets football team rose in both major national polls on Sunday afternoon, following a 45-24 victory over Temple on Saturday. Tech is now ranked No. 16 in the Associated Press poll and No. 17 in the US LBM coaches poll.
The two-spot increase comes as Georgia Tech achieves a 4-0 start to the season – a feat not accomplished since 2014 and only the fourth time in the last 55 seasons.
The Yellow Jackets debuted in the national rankings last week at No. 18 (AP) and No. 19 (coaches). This marks the first time since 2015 that Georgia Tech has been nationally ranked in consecutive weeks; in 2015, they were ranked for the season’s first four weeks.
Tech (4-0, 1-0 ACC) will next face Wake Forest (2-1, 0-1 ACC) in an ACC matchup next Saturday at noon ET on ESPN. Following the Wake Forest game and a bye week, the Jackets return home to host Virginia Tech on Saturday,Oct. 11.
