AUSTIN, TX – October 19, 2025 – Max Verstappen secured victory at the United States Grand Prix, extending his championship lead wiht a dominant performance at the Circuit of the Americas. The Red Bull driver finished ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in a race marked by strategic pit stops and late-race battles.
Verstappen’s win solidifies his position as a frontrunner in the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, while Norris’s second-place finish marks a strong result for McLaren.The race outcome impacts the constructors’ championship standings as teams vie for crucial points in the final stretch of the season.
The race saw a flurry of pit stops between laps 30 and 34, with Tsunoda, Piastri, Hamilton, Norris, and Verstappen all switching to soft tires. The order following the pit stop cycle was Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris, Hamilton, Piastri, Russell, Tsunoda, Bearman, Hulkenberg, and Albon. A spin by bearman on lap 35 during a battle with Tsunoda for seventh momentarily disrupted the race.
norris reported tire degradation shortly after his pit stop, and Verstappen later radioed his team about a lack of traction. In the closing laps, Norris aggressively pursued Leclerc for second place, ultimately overtaking the Ferrari driver on lap 51 after multiple attempts. Leclerc was instructed by Ferrari to defend against Norris, who had received a track limits warning.
Verstappen maintained an unchallenged lead throughout the final laps,crossing the finish line 7 seconds ahead of Norris. Leclerc finished third,followed by Hamilton,Piastri,Russell,Tsunoda,Hulkenberg,Bearman,and alonso.
“Yeah … I’m just … slow. No traction on the approach,” Norris communicated to his team with 10 laps remaining.
