Fun Lovin’ Criminals Bring Unique Sound Back to Riga
The โขAmerican band โฃFunโข Lovin’ Criminals, known for their distinctive blend of genres, โฃrecently completed a performance at Riga’s Palladium concertโ hall on November 3rd as โคpart of their European โtour. The concertโ marked a return to Latvia after a fifteen-year hiatus, following a โคprevious appearance in 2010.
The tour supports theโ release of their new album, “A Matter of Time,” a โproject eagerly anticipated โby fans. Drummer Frank Benbini explained the โalbum’s creation stemmed from aโ renewed โฃsense of creative control, allowing the band to pursue music with genuineโ meaning. The album features contributions from grammy award-winning producer tim Latham. Lead single “Little Bit Further” has been met with positive reviews, being described as a standout โคtrack.
Fun Lovin’ Criminals have cultivated a signature sound since their formation in 1993, โขseamlessly integrating hip-hop, rock, blues, jazz, and โขfunk. This unique approach propelled their 1996 album, “Come Find Yourself,” and its hit single “Scooby Snacks” to international success. The band maintains aโค particularly strong following in Europe and Great Britain, where they continue to โdraw โคdedicated audiences.
The Riga concert showcased a mixโค of โฃclassic hits likeโฃ “Scooby Snacks” โฃalongside new materialโข from “A Matter of Time,” performed by founder andโ multi-instrumentalist Brian “Fast” Leizer, โฃdrummer Frank Benbini, and โฃguitarist Naims Cortaci.
