It was only on Sunday that Xavi Simons’ return campaign to Paris-Saint Germain became official, a day later his – at least temporary departure – seems to have been decided again.

According to consistent media reports, the Dutch top talent is about to be loaned to RB Leipzig. The creative player should move to Germany for a year to gain more game practice there.

Despite his young age, Simons has been the focus of the media for several years. The now 20-year-old joined PSG U19s from Barca’s La Masia academy in 2019. Simons never really caught on in the French capital and was sold to PSV Eindhoven last summer.

Second talent should come in a double pack

Thanks to a buyback clause of six million euros, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are said to have brought the top talent back. Simons appeared in 48 games for PSV last season, contributing 22 goals and 12 assists.

In addition to Simons, another talent from the French capital is to move to Leipzig on loan. We’re talking about El Chadaille Bitshiabu. The only 18-year-old central defender has been playing for PSG since 2017. Bitshiabu featured in 17 competitive games last season.

Leipzig wants to officially sign the two top talents by Thursday in order to integrate them into the team at the training camp in South Tyrol. It would be the sixth and seventh signing of the Saxons in this transfer period. Nicolas Seiwald, Benjamin Sesko and Christoph Baumgartner, among others, have already joined the people of Leipzig.
