NRL Las Vegas: Team News, Late Mail & Key Updates for Knights, Cowboys & Bulldogs

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor February 28, 2026
written by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Kyle Flanagan may see playing time at hooker for the St George Illawarra Dragons in their clash with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Las Vegas this weekend, as the team navigates the absence of Jacob Liddle, according to reports.

The potential shift in Flanagan’s role comes as the Dragons confirmed Matthew Feagai will arrive off the bench for their match against the Bulldogs, following the cutting of two players from their initial squad. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are set to welcome back wingers Jacob Kiraz and Marcelo Montoya, along with Matt Burton, after concerns over injuries.

Elsewhere in Las Vegas, the Newcastle Knights will face the North Queensland Cowboys. Knights coach Justin Holbrook has indicated his confidence in Dylan Brown’s ability to perform at halfback, despite it being a less frequent role for the player. Holbrook stated Brown’s versatility and comfort in organizing the side would be key, and anticipates a dynamic partnership with Fletcher Sharpe.

The Cowboys have confirmed star recruit Reed Mahoney is expected to play a full 80 minutes, with coach Todd Payten praising his leadership and impact on the team. Still, the Cowboys have dropped John Bateman and Harrison Edwards from their bench, with Matthew Lodge and Robert Derby taking their places. Griffin Neame has been cleared of a shoulder injury and is set to play.

The Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo confirmed Kiraz, Montoya and Burton are all fit to play, stating they wouldn’t have been brought to Las Vegas if they weren’t ready. Sam Hughes will replace Leo Thompson in the front row.

The Dragons will see Valentine Holmes start on the right edge, switching from his usual position on the left. Lyhkan King-Togia is likely to come into the halves, potentially allowing Flanagan to shift to hooker if Damien Cook doesn’t play a full game.

The Knights and Cowboys will kick off at 1:15pm AEDT, followed by the Bulldogs and Dragons at 3:30pm AEDT. Further NRL matches are scheduled for later in the week, including Storm vs Eels on March 5th, and Warriors vs Roosters and Broncos vs Panthers on March 6th.

NRL Trials Week 2: Team Lists, Ins & Outs, Key Matchups & Analysis 2026

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor February 11, 2026
written by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

The South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons are set to clash in a pre-season trial match at WIN Stadium on Saturday evening, while the Cronulla Sharks will host the Parramatta Eels at Henson Park. The trials come as teams finalize preparations for the 2026 NRL season.

The Rabbitohs will field a largely inexperienced side for their trial against the Dragons, with former Dragon Matt Dufty starting at fullback, according to team lists released by Fox Sports Australia. Latrell Siegwalt, a recent acquisition from the Broncos, will feature in the centres, partnering with Ashton Ward in the halves alongside Jonah Glover. Peter Mamouzelos will start at hooker.

Conversely, the Dragons are expected to field a more established lineup, including Clinton Gutherson, Damien Cook, and a new halves pairing of Kyle Flanagan and Daniel Atkinson. Shane Flanagan has named what could be his starting 17 for the team’s upcoming Las Vegas venture, according to Fox Sports Australia.

Elsewhere, the Dolphins will face the Gold Coast Titans at Kayo Stadium on Thursday evening. The Dolphins’ team includes debutants Morgan Knowles and Selwyn Cobbo, with Thomas Flegler returning from injury on the bench. Isaiya Katoa will partner with Brad Schneider in the halves.

On Friday, the Canberra Raiders will host the Melbourne Storm at Seiffert Oval, Queanbeyan. The Raiders will see recruit Daine Laurie start at halfback, while the Storm will feature new signings Davvy Moale and Jack Hetherington. The Storm’s lineup also includes a number of players from their 2025 Jersey Flegg premiership-winning team.

The North Queensland Cowboys will take on the Penrith Panthers at BB Print Stadium, Mackay, on Saturday evening. The Cowboys will field a strong side including Scott Drinkwater, Tom Dearden, Jason Taumalolo, and Reed Mahoney. The Panthers have named a youthful side, with Billy Scott, Jaxen Edgar, and Toby Crosby among those selected.

The New Zealand Warriors will play the Manly Sea Eagles at McLean Park, Napier, on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors will feature stars Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kurt Capewell, and Erin Clark. The Sea Eagles will have teen sensations Joey Walsh and Onitoni Large starting in the halves.

Also on Saturday, the Wests Tigers will face the Sydney Roosters at McDonald Jones Stadium. Benji Marshall’s first team selection includes Queensland Maroons under 19s playmaker Javon Andrews in the No.6 jersey alongside Jock Madden. The Roosters will see highly-rated Rex Bassingthwaighte start at fullback.

Finally, the Cronulla Sharks will host the Parramatta Eels at Henson Park on Sunday. The Sharks will have Riley Pollard and Niwhai Puru in the halves, while the Eels will feature Jonah Pezet in his first game for the club.

The trials will provide a final opportunity for players to press their claims for selection ahead of the start of the 2026 NRL season. The Eels and Sharks will be looking to fine-tune their combinations before the season proper begins.

Ralph Lauren Fall 2026: Anne Hathaway & Celebrity Style at NYFW

Anne Hathaway, Lana Del Rey, and a host of other celebrities attended Ralph Lauren’s Fall/Winter 2026 fashion show on Tuesday, February 10, at the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City, signaling the unofficial kickoff to New York Fashion Week.

Hathaway arrived in a sheer black, ruffled lace halter dress from Ralph Lauren’s Autumn 2025 collection, paired with a chocolate brown feather coat and black cowboy boots, drawing attention for its daringly low back. The look was completed with gold jewelry and sunglasses, described as “very Devil Wears Prada” by observers.

Lana Del Rey, accompanied by her husband Jeremy Dufrene, opted for a more romantic ensemble. She wore a cream, low-cut, long-sleeved blouse with ruffled detailing, a delicately embroidered floral skirt, a brown leather blazer, and cognac cowboy boots. Dufrene sported a black trucker hat and a worn leather jacket with jeans.

The front row too included Oscar-winning actress Ariana DeBose, actors Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall, Emilia Jones, Lili Reinhart, and supermodel Joan Smalls. Phoebe Gates and Anna Wintour were also in attendance.

Gigi Hadid opened the runway show, wearing a bouclé tweed corset and tailored skirt. The collection featured over 50 different fabrics, including Edwardian cotton taffeta, tweed, chainmail, and velvet, with designs ranging from daywear to evening wear. A brown velvet halter gown cinched with a chunky leather belt and chainmail sleeves also appeared on the runway.

Ralph Lauren, 86, took a bow after the show, which served as a prelude to the official start of New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, February 11.
